Um, non-standard parts like Tial, KEP, Kinesis, Racing Dynamics and Vitesse count for anything? I reckon probably not.

Oh well, I guess I'm not an outlaw. Back to my day job as a librarian...

I'm not sure if my car qualifies or not, but I think I'm working towards a street/track build...below are a few details, but the overall goal is a car that can be comfortably driven to the track (so I won't be deleting A/C or power steering), can keep pace with newer/more powerful cars on the track, and can reliably drive home (this last one is important because tow truck charges eat up Porsche project money for me!). I've enjoyed reading through this thread and seeing everyone else's projects, it's given me a few ideas!

My plans:

Engine:
10.2:1 pistons (done)
Dansk catback exhaust (done)
Powder-coat cam tower, intake manifold (done)
Billet fuel rail and stainless fuel lines (done)
Throttle cam (done)
Jet-hot coating for headers

Suspension:
951S M030 sway bars (done)
Shocks/springs (I have Konis and factory springs now, maybe switch to stiffer springs, Bilsteins and lower the car?)
16" wheels/tires (done)
Street/track brake pads, slotted front rotors, braided stainless brake lines (done)

Body:
No sunroof (done)
European spec bumpers (done)
Remove rubber trim from sides of body (in progress)

Interior:
Factory dash, center console with carpet delete
Convert mpg gauge in tachometer to oil temperature gauge
Aftermarket front seats (currently Momo reclining seats, maybe change?)
RS-style door panels with red pull handles
rear seat delete
Roll bar/harness bar (not a full cage, but something for 6 pt harnesses)
6-pt harnesses
Remove 6x9" speakers that PO left in the rear carpet, replace with lightweight carpet. Keep front speakers and get stereo that works with iPhone (I'm leaning towards a Blaupunkt unit)

That's wiiiide.... at least 3" on the front each side and 6"+ on the rear. Looks good, but spoils the lines a bit (IMHO) - a little too "American Look". Going back to the German Look thing - this is relevant to my interests. I'm hoping to build the car to look like a just-barely tamed version of a Bergrennen car.

With a little more attention to detail - like the R Gruppe cars, or the Singer 911 - the spirit of the handcrafted racers of the 60's - you get an Outlaw. Purposeful, but stylised beyond pure race.

That's a different car. I like it! Also, on the windshield...it says "Bruce Jenner Racing"...like the Olympian/Kardashian Bruce Jenner. I had no idea he raced. Could this have possibly been his car?

Edit: Take that back. He did drive Porsche's a little, but not a 944. He drove a 934 and 935

Don't want to get too far off topic, but is that the 944 he drove? I'll eventually see if I can get some racing video of him. It's just something interesting to do today haha

Looks more like a track car.

Plenty of those out there and not really the flavor I'm talking about.

I think we need more examples of the style.

that looks very fun but you have several mods that would be illegal for nz road use without engineering certification and a motorsports logbook, possibly a club license too.
