No, too hot in the Summer. Personally my car has been in the workshop waaaaaay more often than on the track. Need to redress the balance one of these years.

This thread had me looking up R-Gruppe 911s from the late 60s and early 70s last night until 2am... I think I have realized my next P-car, if only I can get my 951 to double in value I'll have a chance...

Sadly by the time the 951 doubles in value, an early R-Gruppe 911 (replica or legit) will probably also have doubled in value....

+1

Can you post a pic of the car straight on with the front holes in the bumper?

Applebit:
I think the car would qualify as a Porsche Wildcat if it wasn't Chevy powered. Not to detract from what you've done with it as I think it's a stunning piece of work.

I'm curious to know what the tunnel looks like now to fit that big automatic transmission in there.

Not sure I'd even fit in the car anymore.

Also sounds like this big auto powered setup with a relocated transmission just defeats the design purpose of the Porsche..

Default thread revival

im looking to possibly delete the centre console as cole suggested earlier and just have the section with oil, temp and clock gauges left and heater controls(early dash) no stereo just a hidden ipod dock somewhere, has anyone done this ? kinda trying to build what would pass as a 944 RS / r-gruppe type 944 with maybe a slice of outlawness thrown in as well. working on 18" banded steels also.

That's the best I have right now; I'll remember to shoot a photo the next time it's in the air...

The gas pedal had to be moved over 0.3 inches and I still have plenty of room in the car (amazingly)

The balance is now a 50/50 instead of 49/51 (from further adjustments) - and the 335/30/18's along with the width of fender allow for great hookup while turn in is exceptionally well! It honestly handles far better then what a standard 924 could (obviously from the meat holding it to the ground) as well as multiple other suspension components... This handles far better then the 944 S2 I auto-crossed years ago that had just as much suspension components to it; although I do have the solid rear axle so under extreme conditions it could be better... But I'm no taking this car to the extremes. Enjoying reliable, powerful, enjoyable fun :-)

Reviving this olde(r) thread...

Any more luck finding interior solutions? I removed 60+ ponds from my car removing rear seats and carpet/deadening material.

I'd like to find precut lightweight rear seat delete carpet. Anyone know a source? If no, off to JoAnn fabrics to see what I can come up with...or just REALLY clean the interior paint and repaint Alpine White inside and leave it metal, but I'd rather have some carpet. Looks at least a little more refined?

you need carpet there and insulation, otherwise it is STUPID loud.

Eh. I drove it around like that already, mostly just rattles.

I'm used to loud cars. I'll probably get light carpet at some point though. Imagine if I had a billet transaxle mount it would be pretty whiny. That is coming at some point.
