thank you for the links and the info! seems like a better repair than a bolt and washer setup.

Here is what you need:
- M10 bolt in whatever thread pitch you want and length of 50mm - x1
- M10 nylon lock nut matching the bolt above - x1
- M10 thrust bearings - x2 (McMaster 5909K11)
- M10 thrust bearing washers - x4 (McMaster 5909K71)
Angle grind the weld off of the pivot pin. With enough removed and the surface flat, you should be able to knock the pin out with a hammer and are left with an M10 hole in the shifter. Reinstall the shifter, insert the M10 bolt through the shifter, and then follow with washer, thrust bearing, washer, shifter rod, washer, thrust bearing, washer. I added a little grease on both sides of the thrust bearings. Install lock nut and tighten the nut just enough to snug everything up. Don't over-tighten, no need to and the nylon lock nut won't back out.

Might find a screw that doesn't have threads cut on it until the end (so nothing binds on the shift rod).
