Default OT: "Porsh" or "Porsh-eh"???

Note the pronunciation at the 30 second mark of this official introduction of the 928S.

Curious, eh?!

truly a beautiful car.

that said, it is 'porsh-uh' with the "uh" kind of soft - that is how Dr. P pronounced it.

really though i dont think it matters...even the people at my local dealer are 50/50 on porshh and porsha

I stopped correcting people because doing so made me feel like a snooty doushe.

I personally say 'porsh'. But it's all the same to me.

Hahaha...same here. There is no way to correct someone without being a d-bag.

I just take a mental note and move on.

A trailing 'e' is pronounced in German, so the correct pronunciation is Porsch-uh.

It is definitely pronounced porsch-eh in German, so that's the name of the car. You decide whether it matters or not. The way I see it names vary across languages. Most English speakers don't eve come close to getting mine right , but as long I know when things concern me I don't mind.
EDIT: beaten to it.

Remember the joke.

Unemployed homeless guy comes and asks for work at dudes house. Dude says I give you a $100 to paint the porch green. Guy comes back and says he is finished and wants his $100. Dude asks if you already finished and did you do a good job.

Guy says "Yes sir - but that aint no porch - that is a Ferrari."

There's an episode of Two and A Half Men where Alan buys a Boxster, that addresses this issue very nicely (and Boxsters as chick cars, as well!)

I have trained my daughter to say Porsch - uh. If we keep training the youngins eventually everyone will be saying it correctly. In the meantime.....
