I just bought some German FTV carpet to make my own like that. It doesn't look anything as good as the above mentioned look, but, from what I understand, that kit costs around $250 from that AppBiz place.

I emailed AppBiz last week. They replied they wouldn't sell the rear seat delete kit only because "it will not fit" (apparently unless you buy the whole interior carpet kit as well).

Oh yea, I forgot about that part. So I think total, it comes out to over $600 for everything.

So, I just picked up a 928 this past weekend. The rear seats are a little worse for wear if you know what I mean, plus the PO installed a nice 8 speaker (mid/high) system by Boston Acoustic with a Kenwood amp and a nice Kenwood head unit w/ 6 disc changer. I thought, instead of spending the $$ on seats to be recovered(and reinstalled) that are never going to be used anyway that I would just finish out the rear of the car by adding a small sub(or two) for a touch of lower tones. I googled "928 rear seat delete" and it led me to this post...I was just curious how this project ended up. I think I can adapt what you have in your car to what I am thinking about in mine.

The carpet kit in this photo was from the development of the AppBiz rear seat delete kit from a few years back, can do a search under my user name if you have not already seen the thread. No promises this is what's being sold today if still available but should be close. I often think about pulling the carpet and making a set of templates, I do enjoy the look.

Do you think that delete-carpet would fit OVER the rear seat foam?

Yes. Here's a pic from when I was working on the above. I removed all the existing sound pad and installed new in most areas, helps the felt or carpet lay flat and smooth.

That translates to around $500 plus shipping from UK/Switzerland...
