glueing the Bosh Pilote casing inside it & then shiming the OE casing so at it would aim the ligth at the rigth angle(OUFFF!!! is everybody following me up to date) Those DIY mods were done some eigth years ago & unfortunetly don't have any pics of them.All I can tell you is that the trims to close the gap around the signal ligth was the worst PITA job of this DIY.The pics that follow are of the Pilote ligths beeing taken off & reinstall which take only a couple of minutes to do versus the OE one where you have to jack the car crawl underneath & migth take 1/2 an hour to remove. Btw those Bosh look brand new even though they have been on the car eigth years.

sleeve over coil overs like these run like crap.
I used to have those on KYB struts on one of my older cars when i was a student and the ride was harsh and really horrific.
You will not gain better handling with this piece of crap, you will just make it worst.
After a while I got bored and bought eibach pro-kit progressive springs instead and was wishing I bought those since the beginning.

The ride quality here will be largely dependent on the shock and spring rate. KYB's with too much spring rate will indeed give crummy ride quality.

That's a stock photo. What they're selling is half of what's in the picture and it's for the front only. The sealed strut wasn't introduced until the 86 Turbo so the year model is off too. The difference on these kits from sealed to non-sealed is the diameter of the threaded collar.
Do you know offhand the outside diameter of that threaded sleeve? Does it just sit on the strut housing under compression?

Those sleeves slide over your strut and rest on the bottom spring perch. You can cut the lower perch down to give you more clearance. This is what they looked like on mine:

The O.D. is the same between the sealed and non-sealed strut (I can measure it on Monday)...the difference is the I.D. Sealed struts use 55mm I.D. and non-sealed use 52mm. The sleeves just side on the stock lower perch....or some remnant of it if you decide to trim it.
