Early 944 adjustable springs?
I came across these on google
http://www.sparktecmotorsports.com/gc-7020-02.html
They are listed for a early 944 too but how would they work in the rear? They caught my eye because their inexpensive .. I dont plan on spending 2k+ for coilovers being as Im a broke student with another toy. From what I've read the only way to get coilovers on a early 944 is to swap the rear end from a late model.

These are what I call sleeve-overs rather than true coil-overs, though they do the same thing. You fit the threaded sleeve over your existing struts, remove the existing spring at spring top and replace with the kit. Let's you adjust ride height about 3in. Have to ask why do you think you need coilovers?

Wow, if that's $200 for a set, front and rear, its a great deal, if only for the ride height adjustment. But I too would like to know how the rears would be adjustable considering the t-bars

thats what I would like to know too. Because if indexing the rear torsion bars is needed to have more adjustment then I'd rather just reindex the rear. I had coilovers on 2 past cars but I really dont think their necessary with daily driving, although I'd love to.

That's a stock photo. What they're selling is half of what's in the picture and it's for the front only. The sealed strut wasn't introduced until the 86 Turbo so the year model is off too. The difference on these kits from sealed to non-sealed is the diameter of the threaded collar.

From the looks of it, Sparktec is trying to cover every car ever made. Anyone who has done this for very long knows there were no sealed struts in 83-85.5.

These are just the fronts, there are no kits available for the rear. Coilovers are pointless anyway unless you want to corner balance a car for the track or need a larger choice of spring rates.

Jason helped me out with purchasing my front coilovers from Paragon (Thanks Jason! )...
It always confused me how people can put springs in the rear of the 944?

.. I dont plan on spending 2k+ for coilovers being as Im a broke student with another toy.
If you are a broke student with another toy and don't plan spending 2K + on coil over which is a waste of money unless you track the car why don't you stick with the original struts insert & rear shock which will be Boge/Sachs + refesh the bushings after all they lasted more than twenty years. You can always look into sport springs and lower the car 1 1/2" front & 3/4" rear for a better stance plus it will give and edge when it come to road holding with the rigth tires wheels combo.Btw there is another way of lowering the front using the original springs that does work very well but I (don't won't to go into this). My old 944 lower as mention still sporting the original springs.
