Oops I did it again ........
I am sure the 944 is a kind of evil disease......I have owned my beloved zermatt silver 84 944 for a couple of years now sorting out most of her troubles but then...suddenly there aren't things to repair anymore,no searching for tips on forums and no searching for parts worldwide .So what did I do,I bought another one! Engine overheated, interior in bad shape and the list goes on!
World,welcome my new project!

I'm doing all the bumper to bumper stuff on my '87, too. Now I'm getting ready to pull the tranny and flywheel since I've confirmed the oil leak at the rear main crank seal. I figured that when other rubber engine seals were hard that all of them are, so I'm on a mission to replace them all. I got a flourescent dye kit and am now verifying the source of all leaks. It works and so now I'm looking at: balance shaft seals, cam front and rear and tower seals, rear main seal, transmission case and output shaft seals. It did feel good to see that the oil pan gasket and front main seal that I had just installed are both tight and dry. Also replaced the steering rack boots, lower ball joint boots and new tie rod w/boots.

Got the car and......it's a lemon .Been painted 50 coats of paint...with a brush,or so it looks like.It even got RUST,yep that's correct ,rust on a 944 .I'll try to breathe some air into the lifeless engine and see from there what the future may hold for her!
