I was digging through a box of old photos and found these. Taken while I was TAD to Hawaii in early 1986.

don't think that's a real one, pretty sure the gt's didnt have sunroof's, but i could be wrong. the hood also didnt have those vents, and for most of the gt's the scoop was on the other side not in front of the driver. i do know that(i'm 99% sure) Brumos switched the placement of the scoop to the left side

yeah, its at least a '78 with that fuel cap. that rear spoiler looks like its got a retaining wall on it lol. front and rear flares look wider than stock and the rear ones are smoothed into the bodywork, unlike real CGTs.
non-standard seats and a half cage in the back. i wonder where it is now?

Looks like a series 1 944 (pre 85.5), but it also looks like it might have 4 lug bolts, which only 924s had.

That's an amazing car for the 70's. It must have been blowing people's minds! But really, look at all those nice cars in the pics!!! What happened? Nowadays, cars are awful (not all of them, of course)...

The base car is definitely an early 924, no newer than '78. no idea why he went to all that trouble to put on flares wider than stock 944 flares and not get rid of the early style 924 fuel cap. its otherwise beautifully done, even the louvred hood is kinda cool. where he has the scoop is where the MFI fuel distributor and airbox is for a 924 n/a.
the rear bumper looks blended into the bodywork as well.

Guys look further into this scenario and look further into this car...
The year is 1986, Porsche is a dominant force in motorsport, winning 24h races non stop... Then influence your car with these motorsport derived ideals...
Then you have this car.
Ultra cool, Ultra original.
What bodywork is that? What wheels are those?
Exactly my point. These are the important values in a period correct sports car. These are the pushed aside far too often while "internet judging." Take the car with a grain of salt.
Most people are too busy studying the future, or particularly, the recent past. If we just looked to the roots, we'd be better off. This is slowly but surely resurfacing as an ideal of mine.
