Not gunna lie, that's pretty funny.

Seriously though just sit around the garage with the parts in your hands for a few hours, that's all I do. Also be thankful it isn't a turbo

Your first mistake is that you didnt prepare. Digital camera, Note pad, and Zip lock bags i think are essential for doing that job unless you have a tremendous memory.

Now that ive gotten that out of the way do you have the service manuals. Those have exploded views and can help you figure out where to start.

Do you have any pictures of the mess?

Here is your first post and a list of members who can help.

https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...944-socal.html

V2Rocket_aka944 probably can be the most help with his experience and very reasonable rates.

Free advice on the boards is always here but when you need hands on help, its better to pay if you need tools and experience to finish the job.

I love
A) that you followed my Advice to post it here...
B) that everyone's advice mimics my original advice... ("Use Clarks Garage and Just Do It!") Ha ha

What Does the 'Top Half of the Engine' mean...? I feel like we all might have different definitions of this... I am imagining you looking at the Tops of the Pistons.

I am sure you can find folks to help in that area. Offering up free adult beverages will go a long way.

In case you dont have the shop manual:

http://www.mikepellegrini.com/porsche_manual.php

Ditto to the zip lock bag and digital camera, no sense in crying over spilt milk but use them from this point forward.

GL and keep us posted.

When do you plan on doing some work? I'm down in OC every other Sunday for a while, so, yes beer and pizza is the only requirement. I can bring some special p-car specific tools too.

I really appreciate all the replies, it is my bad for not taking a lot of pictures.. like i said i had a friend of mine helping me that knew what he was doing and since i lost communication with him it screwed everything up. Yea i was looking at the pistons but my friend put a new gasket on and put the head back on but didnt tighten all the way because we needed to get a torque wrench which we ended up getting but then dropped the project because he took off.. so in that case everything else is what is needed to put back on..

p.s. i do have things in bags that my friend labeled but not everything..

Make sure you deal with the oil cooler seals also, they are often mistaken for a HG leak.
