Default "lil mule" supercharged 944 project thread

Finally got my 951 pretty well sorted out to where I want it (with the exception of the new IC pipes for the monster IC now installed) and decided to bring my 83 back home.

For those that don't know I had started out with the 83 long before buying any turbo cars. I had supercharged it and ran it for a few years until I finally destroyed the engine in it. The cause of the destuction was running it without an intercooler and sending 350+ degree air through the engine.

I had ran it at the track a couple times prior to breaking it and it ran a best of 13.55 at almost 106 mph. This was at 15 psi and I had fabbed up a small pulley after this run and was able to run 18 psi.
Once I bought a 951 I had put this car on the back burner and finally I have decided what I'm going to do with it. Hence the project thread

So onto my plans:

I have learned a great deal while tuning and building my 951's and have decided to see what I could have done with the little 83 if I had stuck with it. Initially I had planned on running a quick spool turbo with 11:1 compression. Now I have decided to go back to my roots and use teh Eaton M90 supercharger to see what I can do with it. With the help of Josh (roguetuning.com) I should be able to get away from my old school nozzle injection setup and use just the efi injectors.

After some long thought I have decided to do this on a serious budget (because I just don't have the $$ and it might be fun)

So far the parts I have

New 11:1 engine with a ported and polished turbo cylinder head (already in car)
Long tube header, unknown brand
eaton M90 supercharger
951 IC
72# injectors
Rogues sd-tune (custom for me)
custom intake from last build
HV fuel pump
centerforce clutch from last build
na or turbo trans have both un decided on which to use
gutted tub, my last calculations based apon weight removed it should be around 2300 pounds w/o driver. Last time I raced it, it weighed 2655 w/o driver.

I'm not sure on the color. Either I'm goign to finish the gold paint (front clip) or do a matte black paint job with a gloss or gunmetal gray striping. The car is pretty straight so it should be pretty easy. I am also going to gut it further.

The goal is to make around 300-375 hp and run anywhere in the 12's at 5800 ft. There are some vids of my first outing with this car on youtube under lil mule

Way to go - watching this closely. Had been thinking to trial ITB's with speed density, but apparently that can cause some issues. Plus I have the 2.7 engine with different valves, intake etc - so I'm guessing the standard SD tune map would take a little work.

Responsive power without the heat and exhaust issues of a turbo seems to a mutual goal

(dons flamesuit and waits in the corner for angry 951 comments - just kidding guys! )

Very interesting I have a Eaton M62 which I'm working on installing in my 87 but trying to keep the AC compressor. Joashua at Rogue has been very helpful in discussing ideas.

If you could design the brackets and intake mainfolds for people they would sell like hot cakes. people would need to source their own tuning and supercharger. There would be a market for that. Especially guys with 924S.

Love this project.

No Spencer I'm actually looking for it today. If I find it I will. However, I had planned on changing the mounting this go around since I'm mounting the alternator lower.
