Help identfying wheels
Hi,
I am new member and just purchased a 1986 944 turbo. The car came with a spare set of wheels. Can any of you help me identify these (hopefully I managed to attach the picture). The wheels say "made in Italy" and the fronts are 7.5j17HZ with the following stampings 171Z, 603 and ET23NP and the rears are 9J17H with the following stampings 80Z, 60474 and ET 15NP.
I would appreciate help determining the offset, too.
Many thanks,
Carter

Bingo! I had a set of similar MM 993 Cup clones in chrome on my 86 when I bought it. They have an integral spacer to replace the use of a separate spacer. I swear those things weigh well over 55 lbs mounted and they made the shocks/suspension feel like cement. I replaced them with lightweight 17's in less than 6 months. The worst thing was the offset is wrong for the rears and I had to roll the fenders for a full 180 degrees to keep from cutting sidewalls on the DS. My suggestion is sell them on the VW forums and get rid of 4 anchors.

Thanks. That was really quick. This board seems to have an amazing amount of info and incredibly well informed people.
I just weighed them and they came to 45 front, 51 lbs rear. Thought I should put what came on the car back on, but then I weighed them and they are 2 lbs heavier per corner.
Pictures of the others are below. The only markings on these wheels are "made in USA". Does anyone know what they are?

Thanks. We are putting the cup 2s on now to see how we like them. The Hartmanns have been chromed.
Does the ET number refer to the offset?
I am still surprised wheel makers don't put their name and a part number on the inside. IS there a reason they don't? It seems so logical, but is almost universal in not being done.
We are between Carytown and U of R in Richmond.
Best and thanks for the help and advice,
Carter

I feel like in their current condition the cups would look better, but I'm sure there are a lot of people on these forums that would take the twists off your hands in no time, especially if they are in good condition under that coat of eh.

Thanks guys. If we decide to let the twists go, I'll let you know. we just got the car and are still trying to figure out what to do with and what it needs. It will take us some time to figure it out. Hoping to do some DE events with my son. He'll make the call on the white cups or the chrome twists. Thinking we'll want something much lighter for the track. I probably vote for the cups as the car is red with white stripes.
