Default Fuel pump questions

Think I'm going to replace my fuel pump. Builder of my car warned me that the stock pump in another LS converted car he built was running out of steam at the power level I have. (mid 370's rwhp).

I'm considering either the Bosch HV or the 044 pump. Anyone have any opinions on which to use?

I've read a few install DIY's, if the fuel pump is outside the tank, that means the one you access from inside the hatch is a transfer pump?

TIA!

there is no pump in the tank. what you access in the hatch area is the sender that tells the gague how much fuel is in the tank. the only pump is on the outside of the tank behind the right rear wheel as you know. i would think the 044 pump would provide you with a bigger margin for safety as in my research regarding larger fuel pumps the bosch hv pump didnt seem to provide much more fuel flow than the stock one.

Changing out pumps is very easy. As easy as changing out an in-line filter. Jack up the right side of the car, remove the 13mm hex bolt that holds the strap in place, remove panel on fuel tank, and there's the pump right there.

Don't know what the right size pump is. One of those things I have to recalibrate myself to as Porsche does it differently than the old stuff I used to mess with.

Well, I talked with Dave Lindsey and he said the HV pump didn't start running out of steam until 480rwhp, so more than 100rwhp than I currently.

Since it was a direct fitment, I decided to buy it. It should get here on Wednesday and I'll throw it in then...

damn, wish i would have seen this earlier - i have one i bought from lindsey a while back and decided to just keep it rather than pay their restocking fee. I ended up going with a stock replacement instead so I've got a HV (I think we're talking about the same one) on the bench.
