Has anyone found a suitable place for an amp by the way? Anyone mounted one in the spare tire cubby? I'm somewhat interested in this box. The PO already installed a bazooka tube with an amp... but they just sit on the back carpet. How does this thing even mount? Or does it just slide it? Sturdy fit? 2 would be nice (I like my bass).

Picccccsssssss.

86951Driver: Where did you end up putting your amp? Does the KLA box rattle at all in the cubby hole? Any padding?

Odurandina: as good looking as that tube is, I'd rather not have mine sticking out in the open.

I thought I had pictures of where my amp is installed. I actually mounted the amp in the other cubby hole. I will try to get pictures of it.

Thank you. Preferably I'd like to keep that cubby for tools and such. But I'd like to have a look anyways, you might just change my mind.

This is my custom made enclosure - my design, made up by the shop.
Dual 8" Sony's and 1200W Amp.
Custom Perspex laser-cut grilles - my design.
Had this re-covered in black vinyl recently

I've had the box for about a year with an Alpine type-r the box is .24 cu ft, i cut away the top of box and added another piece of 3/4" MDF over the hole to get a touch more volume out of it. I power it off an alpine PDX 600.1 that's bolted to a piece of flooring and then inserted into my spare. I keep it in place with a wood wedge.

Super ghetto, and totally effective. I don't have a picture handy unfortunately, I will warn you it wouldn't be an easy box to replicate unless you have some skill with a table saw and geometry.

Bumping an old thread....

Looking for more input/pictures from those who have purchased/used this box. In the process of upgrading stereo and looking for a sub solution without spending an arm and a leg on a custom fiberglass enclosure to fill the same cubby hole the KLA box uses. Anybody?

If you don't mind removing the spare tire, there is a nice sub-woofer enclosure that fits perfectly.

Good luck...
