Default 944 KLA hidden sub box

KLA PORSCHE 944/968 SUBWOOFER

Has anyone had any experience with these hidden sub boxes from KLA?

$135 seems a little steep... I'd like to build one myself. Does anyone know the dimensions of the enclosure or how it sits/fastens inside the the rear cubby?

Lots of reviews if you search. It's more expensive than building it yourself, but really cheap compared to having a shop build you one. Also cheaper than most model-specific boxes I've seen. If you value your time at >$50/hour or don't have woodworking tools, it's a good deal and works well based on reviews. I plan to install one once I get the rest of the car sorted to satisfaction.

If you remove the insulating foam on the backside of the carpet above the sub, it has little effect on the sound.

I just bought one of these boxes. To be honest you may think $135 is steep but the craftsmanship is awesome. It really looks nice. Although I would like to mention you need to add an MDF ring to fit a JBL 8" sub. Ask me how I know.

Default 944 KLA hidden sub box

Did anyone purchase this box?? Seems to be exactly what i'm looking for to round out the car stereo.

McIntosh MX406 Headunit, German Maestro SV Series 4" components as of now.

I've got one of the first ones they produced. Think I've had it for almost a decade.

It fits perfectly, it works great even if you don't remove the foam on the carpet, and it provides plenty of bass.

Looks exactly as it does on the KLA website although mine was painted all black.
