Odereater, didn't you read what I said to you last week? Let me repeat it for you.
We get it. V8's rule. You hate the 924/944 series. TonyG is god. Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah blah (to infinity).
All of us here on the 924/944 boards are sick of your ****. Your constant babble and bullying has grown old. Please go troll somewhere else. OT. The 968 board. Where-ever. We don't care. Just not here.
Go sell your crazy somewhere else. We are all full-up here.

It must be embarrassing to be wrong on such an obvious thing when you're pretending to be an expert. I know very little about 931s but even I know about the vented nose panel... something which is far more obvious (to me) than even the hood duct!
Anyway, I have a soft spot for 931s and I don't know why. They're at the top of my list of "Cars I'd like to own someday for random tinkerin' but will probably never buy." I considered getting one about 8 years ago but didn't because, well, I just didn't really have the room for it.
BB.

it's easy to gang up on someone if it makes you feel good... i've never professed any profound expertise about the 924. as i discovered, i did own and drive a car with the same engine block..... what i have said plainly is that when you look into restoring one, the numbers don't seem to work, and i'm right about for at least some of them.... funny isn't it, how you'd think Porsche might celebrate the 924's breakthrough "stuff" when commemorating their distinct, 50 year automotive heritage on their 'family tree,' promotion of the new Panamera in the fall of 2009.... i suppose, if you slow down the (long, 60 second) clip you can barely make out part of a fuzzy, Guards Red 944T. and maybe the same well-sorted car is only semi-visibile off in the distance for a couple of frames, but no prototype (924), and no 968, (which is a pretty good car even w/out the help of a turbo)... seriously, wtf? i think we all were fairly incredulous about the 'snuff.' what else can you conclude but that editing the 944 out of the clip required not only skill, but rather quite an effort... against the standard, i offered a more critical opinion of the 924 based on casual observance of what is clearly, flat, even anemic performance... that it simply isn't what we would expect from Porsche. and i am big enough to admit to being wrong about that 'keeping clean examples of the cars on the road,' is a worthwhile endeavor... i may have been a bit hard on the 924. so, therefore, i apologize and i won't offer anymore negative comments about them.

Yup the whole of the series has been pretty much bastardized by Porsche marketing. To bad since the later 944T, 944S2, 968 where undeniably great cars. You'll find that the 924 folks are some of the biggest cheerleaders for the series as a whole... front-engined, watercooled, 4 bangers, that in some instances, the 944T comes to mind, decimated the competition. It all started on the humble 924 platform and as is the case with most things needed dedicated development to reach its ultimate potential. Let face it, the 968 Turbo S was a mammoth of a car and should have been offered in greater production. We won't argue that the 924 is > than a 944 or the 968, they are not. But they are the grandfather of the series and as such deserve a modicum of respect.

i believe any car is great in its own right. Yeah 924's may not be super awsome in comparison to a 951 stock or whatever, but going on that basis no one would ever restore an old 912 because its slower than a 911, or a 911 because its pointless in comparison to a 997turbo....

I've always said that if the 924 had been sold by Audi, or even VW, history would have been much kinder to it. Heck, it might even have become <gasp> collectible.
So, in order to improve the image of my 924S, I've made the one modification it should have had from the factory.![Stick Out Tongue](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/tongue.gif)
