All I can say is wow. Stock, no mods 944. I loved the exhaust tone and it was peppy. The low end torque was awesome. I was truly impressed. I helped the owner install a new fender and headlight since he hit a deer.
just thought I would share my thoughts.

I do like the sound of a stock NA...but I can't say I'm impressed any time I drive an NA after years of modded 951 (and 944 NA) ownership..

There is a reason we all (On this side of RL) own them...and its not because we can't afford 951s.

(yeah yeah, I'm going turbo as soon as possible lol... but I'm using my NA for the turbo, so its still the car I fell in love with)

OK, as the real world owner of both.. I enjoy both cars.. for different reasons...

I have said it many times before!

My NA is pure joy to drive, beautiful tone, predictable handling, and absolutely predictable power delivery.. smooth every time!

My 951, is an angry kid, with an axe to grind, and looking for a fight to pick.. it is MUCH more brutal than my NA..

Neither is better or worse, they are different, and some times different is a very good thing!

I will be installing a Miller MAF/chip conversion in the next month...I think this will get my NA close to what I want it to be. If I could do it over...968 but have too much $$$/time invested to not see it through.

I find it interesting that a lot of 951 owners say that....I would think the added power would make you all but forget about it.

My na felt "fatter" when I put Cup II's on it. ...I wouldnt go back though. They just look too good...really the perfect wheel for this car, esthetically. Not too much flash...but enough to modernize it.

This is why I love my 924s. It feels lighter than it really is.

my old 944 was bonestock but just felt like it could handle way better than my 951 (before upgrades that is). maybe it was because of the low power and i literally couldn't get in too much trouble... now the 951 felt super fast because of the turbo lag but was only around 220hp. then i went to the 968 with 20 more horsepower and if felt more like the na with 100 more horsepower. go figure. but i do miss that na at times...
