I can't tell you how many airbag wheels I've pulled without incident. It only takes a few minutes for the residual charge to dissipate. Waiting 1-2 hours is ridiculous.
Using the resistor works well if you want the passenger airbag to still work. Since my car is a track car I didn't want either bag to work and I didn't want to stare at the airbag light on the dash, so I clipped the wires at the airbag ECU and unplugged the passenger bag.

Removing the airbag lamp in the dash is not good, you still get the central warning lamp lit all the time. If you disable that, you do not have the central Warning for other issues. It is better to disable the airbag controller or mollify it with the resistor mod. You can also clip the connection between the cluster and the airbag controller.

______to fittrjoe see where the wires come's out at the bottom that where they go back in.The white wire is spade (hope it's the rigth term)connected so no problem just unplug, the blue & brown not sure at 100% but if I remember well I did snip them. What will be left is the large black one with the red connector in which you install your resistor .(if I'm wrong please somebody correct me sometime my old memory will fail me even thougth I've done this only seven month ago LoL should have taken more pics.

Because I needed the airbag system working (Quebec inspection requirement) I went ahead and spent the $$ for the Durametric kit. It is nice to have to read and reset the airbag computer and DME. Although I only used it once so far.
Frankel951 just noticed your avitar. Do you have some more pictures of your cab posted somewhere?
