[quote]He did recognize my car as a turbo, however I don't understand how he could be so ignorant.
The biggest hint that I knew he hadn't done any type of conversion or anything to his car is the fact that he said "That's faster than this" and also his car could've been kept a little cleaner.

Nick, if you are always nice to other 924/944/968 people reagardless of random jerk-offs, you will find that the amount of genuinely cool porsche people that you will meet will be greater and greater as time goes on. I can attest to this, having introduced myself on several occaisions to a few old German codgers that had pride in their old 911s that thay had been driving for 15 years. Just dismiss the losers and continue on. We are all only human after all.

cheers-

Good point. I ended up just letting several things go when I had my last encounter- the guy had said his car had 225HP and was VERY adamant about it- I said "I thought it had 236 and 225 lbs/ft of torque?" He said "I don't know anythig about torque, but it DEFINATELY has 225 horespower." I had already given up when I asked him if it had LSD (I think it was '92, so I was going to ask what kind), and he said he had no idea what a limited slip diff was. At that point, you may as well just be polite and say "Well, it's a beautiful car- I'll see you around..." Unless he's a complete ******* or something- then you wait and let HIM pull out on the road first and follow him and RUN HIS SNOTTY *** OF THE ROAD saying "PEOPLE LIKE YOU GIVE US PORSCHE OWNERS A BAD NAME YOU FU**ING JERK OFF!"

Hmmm, maybe I got a little behind on my new medication

[quote]Anyways, anyone know some good spots for used 944 parts in central Indiana?

Nope. Only hope is bend over and grab both ankles. There is a fantastic mechanic around here though.

Nick, when he asked you how many cyls you had, you should have looked blindly off into space for a moment, looked back and replied, "I don't know how do YOU tell?"......"perhaps that freeway on ramp just up ahead?"

I have approached a seldom few Porsche owners in the San Fran Bay Area where I live and a couple were up on thier cars, most were not, sadly.

It just makes it that much better when you can run across that knowledgeable Porsche fan. Doug

Some 944 owners are real nice and some are dicks, ther is no real average 944 owner. Either they know alot about their vars or they know nothing. I was at a computer store once and this guy came out as I was looking at his white 944S (it was at Computer Success in Columbus Ohio if yer on the board). I said "nice car". He said it was fun and I preceded to tell him about my Turbo but he just got in his car and left. I dont think her heard me cause he seemed like a nice guy and his car was rather clean. And then theres the complete asses who think their god and no one else matters. Last year on the way to mid-ohio a guy in a red 928 passed me andI waved, he flipped me off. SO, me and my dad (him in his Morgan) passed him a few sec. later. He passed me again (middle finger in full and upright position) but my friend and I both flicked out cigerrates at his car (with out saying a thing to each other, it was very weird). I blew passed him and saw him later at the show. He said he thought Iflicked him off first but it was all good. I got some windex and helped him wipe off hiswindow.
