Post Stupid I dea of the week... 951 to 968 conversion

Since I have a 968 bumper cover and hood sitting around, and the bumper cover and hood on my 951 are in so-so shape... plus I would love to have a turbo 968... lol I am wondering if its even possible. Besides buying the fenders and headlights, can it be done?

Regards, ...Scott

(don't worry, I am not terribly serious about this, more just conjecture at this point)

Anything can be done if you've got the $ and patience. I'd love a 968 with a 951 front end

Im not sure if you can use the parts you have but GT racing sells fiber glass parts to do the conversion you may just need the fenders.

You're nuts, the 951 front looks great. So does the 968 rear. Keep it like that!

There are clearance issues under the hood since the 968 fenders "cave in" on the front - you have to relocate some stuff. Clubautosport.co.uk has a 911&Porsche world article about their conversion kit:

<a href="http://www.clubautosport.co.uk/9681.htm" target="_blank">Page 1</a>
<a href="http://www.clubautosport.co.uk/9682.htm" target="_blank">Page 2</a>
<a href="http://www.clubautosport.co.uk/9685.htm" target="_blank">Page 3</a>
<a href="http://www.clubautosport.co.uk/9684.htm" target="_blank">Page 4</a>

It's do-able though!

I agree with G96. The turbo front valance is beautiful...

...and that 968 rear looks great, doesn't it? <img src="graemlins/burnout.gif" border="0" alt="[burnout]" />

I have a 968 chassis I'm trying to get rid of soon. If you have all the 944 mechanicals it should be a little work for a 944-968 conversion. email me for some details.
