Stained dash
Hello,
Last tear a small brown spot showed up in my dash at it grew bigger and bigger with time (top left arrow).
I tried alcohol, windex cleaner, armorall, to not avail. It seems nothing can get out that stain. One day it suddenly disappear! I thought it was a kind of fungus or the like, so tried a fungicide. It did not help, it got worse as shown in the picture. Then a couple of weeks ago, new stains started to show up (top - left arrow, and bottom picture). NOTHING seems to take this stains off. It looks they will just spread over all my dash..kind of like cancer. Any help out there or experience with this type of problem? Thanks a lot.

When I posted my original SOS message nobody responded...but I am going to go out on a limb and assume that somebody is interested in my problem. Well... I mean solution.. 'cause I solved it.. Yeahh!!!
I had a very bad case of a nasty fungus growth. Over the last TWO years, yes it grew little by little, I tried a zillion type of chemicals. Only one (409) was able to remove just a little bit after a lot of scrubbing and scrubbing, but in a couple of weeks the mold came back with vengeance. See original photos.
After a lot of research found this little outfit in Maine called Twin Pines that make chemicals to remove stains in.. get ready guys...... dolls and action figures! What make me keep reading their website was their statement that their stuff will work only in vinyl samples and will destroy all other plastics. When I saw pictures of how good the thing worked on stained dolls, I decided to give it a try. I knew that the Porsche was made of vinyl in the affected area.. so what the heck and bought the stuff.
I have to inform you that the thing called Remove-Zit killed and removed all those micro-critter in a four days...With this message I send a happy cheers to those doll and action figure collecting community, if it wasn't for their passion that little company wouldn't have existed and my dash would have been eaten alive with time.
Guys, take note. This could happen to you.
Cheers and happy driving :-)

GTL, Thanks for posting. I have the same problem in the same area on my tan color dash and glove box lid. I had given up on cleaning the dash and was considering on replacing it, until your post. Help, what's the web site for Twin Pines.

I'm really really really glad you posted this. I caught just enough of a rumor of how you fixed this to drive me nuts trying to find this obscure mold remover to fix mine. Thanks!!!
I've also been trying to get rid of this stain.
Did I say I'm glad you posted this?
