Post Can't wave to other 944 drivers?

Since I got my car, I've noticed there are about 5-6 944's that I know of in my city that I see driving or parked Daily.

Every single one of them I've seen has been a jerk to me!

I saw one at an intersection, and as he went by, I waved..

he looked at me funny and stuck his hand out like saying "hi, un go away"

I saw him again in his car, parked in the local college parking lot and I waved and showed him my crest key fob.. he waved at me to 'go away' ... what an idiot....

And I saw a white 951 today, when it pulled up next to me at a red light.. and I and Waved, and said "heey, whats up?"
nothing.. he just ignored me.

Is it OK to wave at other 944 owners? Or am I just making a fool out of myself?

wow, that's surprising, i've never had a problem with other 944 /951 owners waving, but i guess there always some jerk who thinks he's better than everyone else. Keep waving, the REAL enthusiasts will wave back.

Maybe they just have gotten used to being waved at by so many fine women only?

Who Knows!

My experience with the whole wave things has been odd to say the least. I've never had another Porsche owner in a large city wave @ me. I guess something to do with too many people to look @ Porsche's driving by. In smaller more rural areas I wave and all of them wave back. Just my experience... don't know if it fits this situation or not?

Cool

Keep waving. 924/944/951 drivers are usually quite friendly. We drive the cars because of the way they drive, not because most people can't afford them. That said, I was actually the recipient of a wave from a beautiful dark blue 993 Carrera a few weeks ago. And my '44 is a bit rough around the edges. Just keep waving and enjoying your ride!

its not a real urban area, but not rural either. Then again, its not suburbia.... eh... there's only a few 944's in the city that I know of.

My car looks 10x better than his 944 did anyway. Maybe he was being a jerk out of jealousy

and I'll keep waving!

Maybe it's the way you're waving...

Maybe some people wonder if they know you and aren't sure...

Maybe some people don't like waving at others just because they drive the same car...

There are lots of reasons, so if you like waving, just keep on doing it!

Huh, ever since I took my 944 home late Friday night, I've only seen ONE Porsche, and that was a brand new Carrera, who not only passed me on the far entry ramp to another freeway, he cut across 5 lanes, and wove like a friggin' "kill me now!" idiot!

Did I wave to him!? No, more like I gave him the bird- but under the dash; people get wierd out here with guns and cars sometimes.

But my car needs paint baaadly. Got two different sandable primers today (one's a spot filler), both in black! I spied a new sander down in the garage that belongs to my roomie - took a look, it's also for working on cars!!!

I wouldn't worry about it. Just keep waving and the real enthusiasts will wave back.

I couldn't believe it this weekend. I had an exchange of "thumbs up" and "waves" from 2 Boxsters!!! Yes, you read it right, Boxsters!! the drivers actually waved back. Now I must admit that we all had the tops down and I have had exchanges with other convertables as well which were not Porsches. I have yet to get a wave from a Boxster with the top up.

I usually don't have a problem getting a wave. However, I also don't have a "problem" getting a honk from truckers on the interstate!

CN,

That's not fair. They'll wave to a 911, but I've yet to see one wave to a 944. Nobody likes me. The 3.2 Carrera Cab I passed yesterday wouldn't wave either. I did have a guy in a big Dodge truck almost break his neck trying to get a better look. I think he was admiring my collection of dead bugs.

I always try to wave, but I can't help but feel foolish when people won't wave back.
