Post Lowering a 951's back

I'm thinking of getting a set of 250# lowering springs for the front. Should I lower the rear too? If so how do you get the rear down?

if it's the same as the 924S, I beleive ya go underneath, and mess around with the eccentric bolt on the trailing arms. that's how we lowered the back of the S. otherwise, I think ya need to screw around with the torsion bars to go lower. I hear it's no fun.

The only other way is to adjust your torsion bars, which is way more complicated and time consuming. Measure your car's ride height now and see if there's a way to visualize what it would look like with -1.5" front and -.75" back. The guy I bought mine from had mounted a size smaller rubber in fron and a size larger in rear, giving the car a nose down appearance that although not stock is little more aggressive looking.

If you put 250# springs on the front, you should change the torsion bars to 28 or 29 mm to balance the car. You will need to re-index the TB to get the car level, they also sell spaces with the springs to keep the same ride height.

AG951 your want the car to sit level from the metal rocker panel. You can install thr front springs then use the eccentric to lower the rear to level or just a bit 1/4" higher. You will have more understeer with the 250's vs stock. A slight butt high rake will reduce this as well as stiffer rear sway bar until you get proper torsion bars.

My "stock" 951 has the 250lb Weltmeister progressives that lower the car. I was able with the eccentric nut to get the ride level and possibly even too low in the rear. Paragon's tech write up has a good way to measure "level", but visually is always how I arrive at "level" if it's a street car.

It may be that the 17 year old torsion bars are not at their orig. spec.? I'd try the Paragon-tip way before deciding on installing new torsion bars as that process is a *$^#!

See if the eccentric works first. Then decide what you want and how far you want to go in the focus of the car.

I'm actually fine with the current ride height. I might scrape going into my driveway if I go any lower, so maybe I'll get the spacers.

I had the H R springs put on my 968, and the eccentric adjustment was enough to put a very slightly nose down look to the car. I'm quite happy with the results.
