Default Searching for good 944/S2/951/968 shell & excellent interior in SoCal

Discovered earlier that the 944 does NOT in fact fit in the trunk of an SUV and in turn tweaked the passenger side frame pretty badly. Interestingly there is no deformation of the A-pillars, roof or door frames and the doors open and close with ease. Basically from the hoodline forward is screwed, and as I said the passenger side frame rail (next to the oil filter) is crumpled. Regardless, I am fairly certain that the shell is a total loss. The 25-30k mile engine however was not touched in the accident and still runs fine. I have a well-sorted suspension on the car, a turbo gearbox, and a variety of other parts I would like to swap over to a good new shell.

I have no real preference of early versus late, but a late body/interior would certainly be an interesting change.

As the title states, I am in SoCal and want something local. I live in Riverside but my 944 is at my house in San Diego for storage, also where all the parts-swapping would take place.

I have a lead on a good late body so far but no interior, so if you have excellent late interior bits let me know.

I would like to gather these parts ASAP to try to get the car rebuilt before the new year.

Pics? ...I'm assuming you haven't started a thread already with the damage. I haven't been on in a few days... This is sad news. Hope you find a nice tub.

Spencer, sorry to hear about that. Another friend of mine crashed his p-car today too, wtf?

I would recommend finding a whole car for cheap and going from there. You could probably find a 944, early or late, for $800-$1500. There are lots of advantages to buying a whole car.

-won't have to swap ridiculous things someone else has removed, like glass, emissions garbage, etc.
-will have tons of spare parts to keep and/or flip
-larger selection of whole cars to choose from, so you can get a color combo you like
-better chance it will have a clean title?

I don't know if you're still working on that SC kit but a late 944 will let you mount a 951 intercooler easily...

currently have my eye on a complete car minus interior...still open to other ideas though.

looking for a guy to inspect the chassis for severity of damage and to see if it broke anything other than the PS frame rail...if all else is good, its getting a front end tube frame
