Default Locating 968 cabriolet parts?

Seems I've run into a small issue...

1994 968 cabriolet

The top has some broken pieces we need to fix, and the dealer is quoting us big numbers for parts alone. Unfortunatley pelican parts's search is down, and I can't find anything along the lines of cabriolet in 944, or 968.

So here's what I've found from PET.
The parts I need are:
941 561 201 11 (L) main folding top bow
941 561 202 11 (R) main folding top bow
( http://i35.tinypic.com/33wta9i.png #2 )

941 561 517 11 (L) gasket outer uncoated
941 561 518 11 (R) gasket outer uncoated
( http://i33.tinypic.com/25aq1ol.png #10 )

Is there somewhere I should be looking to acquire these parts that won't cost 50% the value of the car??

Thanks!

For new I would use Sunset Porsche in Oregon, and used, I've had great luck with Partsheaven and DC Automotive.

I just went through this with my 44 cab. The shop I hired to put on a new top broke both main bows at $1600 each (retail from the dealer). He had a guy weld them and claims that they are stronger than before. However he converted the top to manual because the motors are out of sync now. He says that that's why the bows broke and he also says it was not his fault!!! Anyway I'm now looking for someone in SE PA who can sync the motors.

I would think given the low production numbers of the cabrio that finding replacement parts for it that aren't cheap would be rare. Its a shame they didn't offer a hardtop for the cabrio

like they have for the Boxster....

(shouldn't even say it)...

don't want to make any enemies, here. hell, maybe i shouldn't even say it...

i love the Cabriolet cars and i mean no disrespect to anyone who has one... but, based on what people are selling them for, Cabrios with aging tops, but good motors and even manual transmissions are not in very high demand anymore..... this makes even slightly damaged examples excellent candidates as donor cars for all sorts of issues that a 968 owner might expect to see driving past 250 k miles. these are not cheap cars to keep on the road, and even a minor accident can spell disaster... (and perish the thought of a transmission rebuild)....

i love daily driving my car so much... that keeping a cabrio around for the engine, transmission, TT, steering rack, radiator, ac, suspension components, glass, on and on -- is something i would seriously consider...

if i wasn't planning an LS engine for the future, i'd keep my eyes open, and pick one up, keep it covered, and run the motor.... the engines are awesome but, eventually they'll get tired enough to rebuild them $$$$$.

maybe sell the core and just swap in from the donor car....

once done, you can strip the rest of it down to the tub, cut it up and haul it away...

I just found an ad on craigslist in Atlanta, a guy parting out 2 968 cabs.

I do not know the person so I cannot verify what they have or if they are on the level.
