Default Tires what do you recommend?

I have a 1986 944 Turbo. Its stock for now. I am going to start looking at tires, and I was curious has anyone ever bought tires just because of how they looked?

On another note post up what tires you recommend. I have always like BFGoodrich's. They have always treated me well.

Those tires look to be an extremely good deal.

Must be all season as this will be my daily driver.

Unless it's a race slick, anyone who says that how a tire looks doesn't play into their consideration is lying. Please call me, I'd be happy to help.

Of all the tire brands, Continental is the least performance oriented (at this point). When they sponsored the Grand Am races, they had to form an "alliance" with Hoosier so that they could put "Continental" markings onto a Hoosier tire for use in the series. But for street cars, I suppose they're fine.

I've become a big fan of Kumho and Hankook. Great prices and very competitive tires. And for the record, I'm a huge fan and customer of TireRack. Great inventory, data and service.

That's because you've never bought cool looking tires.

BFGoodrich KDW2's are the best looking tire on the market, just got that noise thing going on.

A set of Conti Sport Contact 2's fell in my lap a few years ago. 235/40-18 x 265/35-18 on my supercharged 928.

My goal was to burn them off and buy something else. I was pleasantly surprised, especially in the rain.

Three of my cars will be wearing RE760's next spring.

I have these on my BMW, and I'm happy. Great tread life, excellent in the rain, pretty quiet, never heard them squeal in corners.

I tried an S2 with new Yokohama S-drives- also fine for the street.

944s with all-seasons aren't worth it. In addition to driving poorly in summer, they'll sit and spin in the winter.

That tire I posted gets great reviews. I can't get a summer tire because of the season we get here in KC. I'm going to drive this thing to work when there is 7 inches of snow on the ground, It will be for when the snow hits you that it can still move and drive well. A lot of people seem to like that conti tire.

Get snow tires, that kind of snow requires it :\ I run dunlops winters in the winter and direzzas in the summer. Its a great combo! even if it does require 2 sets of rims it was totally worth it. I did drive my dads S2 on Bridgestones re960's last winter and it was okish, but they did not even come close to dedicated snows.

I bought me a set of Toyo R1R's, haven't driven the car with them on yet, but I haven't had bad luck with Toyo's before. They appear to be a hell of a deal for only $110 for 225/50/16 too.

I'll probably end up getting a set of cheap wheels and winter or all-seasons for fall/spring though.

Buying a tyre based on what it looks like is like buying medication based on pill colour.

the tread on these Pirelli P-Zero Corsas will cause extremely hot women to jump right into your F-car.

Yea, but the problem with P-Zero's is if the ambient temp drops much below 50F, your car will jump right off the pavement.......
