Post 265 Miles, 4 hrs 6 minutes

Just got back from Montreal. Other than a little wonky wheel bearing ran beautiful the whole way.

Coming off of 89 onto 93 I saw the familiar tail end of a camaro/firebird, my arch Nemisis. Came up behind him on the on-ramp 75/80 or so. He didn't react. Saw his plate IBLUBYU.

Well if that aint a challenge....

He did nothing but at least I blu by him.

Trying to see if I can a group to go up to Montreal for the Grand Prix. I know this is the 944 forum with the most traffic. But which airhead forum should I post in.

Dude McKibbins just off St Catherine is my second home while I'm there.

Quite a few other places I enjoy as well.

Eric,
Drove the 951 to work THREE days this week! Hated every minute of the downtown traffic snarl, but the early morning run down the backroads was quite nice!

We'll get you putting some miles on that puppy soon enough.

But yes it's not a traffic happy car.

How about a run up here to meet with us and onward to Montreal.

It is fun to watch the temp guage go up and down!

I think I was in traffic for about 4 hours and 6 minutes as well.

It's the clutch that drives me nuts.

All the Cannucks liked the car too.

Guy down the street had one that looked exactly the same.

Cept for the Ricey Side Skirts and the Turbo label on an NA.

Come on Keith I put 70 plus miles a day on mine. It is kinda neat to see the temp gauge move like that. But I have the benefit of the Hardy toll road

Michelle:

When eople ask me about the "economy" of driving a Porsche as a daily driver I alway mention you and your 320K NA. Yeah maybe I could buy a Nissan or a toyota that can go that long, but what's the fun

And when I drove a Honda no-one ever said/ "Cool is that a Honda!" I'm also surprised at the amount of non-car guys who know abot the 924-944 relationship, and other things like the handling.

I stick to my guns. There aint a better daily driver can than a 944.

Wish I had gotten the vanity plate ITSA4CYL now though.

Miles I don't mind (and Kevin I think you're nuts). It's the 6 million people living in the third largest city in the US all trying to get to work by 8:30am. And for some reason I'd swear they all live on my side of town! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="eek.gif" /> Add to that the HUGE pot holes on Kirby, the lack of any visible road maintenance program anywhere in the city, the screwed up traffic lights, the vans, tractors, SUV's, and general idiots all aiming directly at my car - whew, gave me a head ache the first day! Then I wound up pulling "pick up duty" at the warehouse for computer parts - and noooo, it couldn't be something small like a floppy drive. Oh noooo, it had to be three ATX cases for emergency repairs! Lord knows I love the 951, but thank goodness the Tropper is back on Monday!

Keith, gotta agree with Kirby (and most other streets in Houston). If I lived in Katy and had to sit on 10 all day, I would find other means of transportation also! I'm luck enough to work crazy hours that put my traffic time to a minimum, and I CANNOT leave my desk during the day so errands are left to others. Keith, honestly if I had you 951 it would sit and get waxed and loved more than abused on these horrible streets. I've just been lucky enough to "dodge the accident bullet".

I hear ya Kevin. That reminds me - the 951 also got REAL dirty. I don't think it's EVER been REAL dirty!

Now I gotta wash and wax and vacuum and pamper and clean and... Dang, that sounds like fun. Maybe I'll drive her more often!
