Default Pictures of rear seat delete that you have done

I have been thinking about losing the rear seat in my 44. Nobody is ever going to sit back there, as there is no leg room. I am toying with the idea of building a speaker box/amp rack to house a 12" sub that I have out of one of my previous Corvettes. I will also install some better rear speakers in the enclosure. Anyone have pictures of what they may have done in place of the rear seat? Would love to see what others have done. This is my next project once I am done the motor.

I am about to make a box to just cover the area, go straight down with the angle and end where the back seats would have, like they were never there. Going to mount 2 6x9's where the seats would have been also but I've never been big into subs.

This is a package tray from a 968 convertible. Still working on finishing it out.

My sub is left over from when I set up a Corvette for competition. Figured the amp and sub are just collecting dust, might as well use them. I am thinking about using 1/4" mdf and coat inside and out with fiberglass resin. I want to keep the weight down, but still have a sturdy built unit. I checked out the picture you (Strike-Force) have on your restoration thread with no back seat and have some ideas brewing in my mind.

KuHL...did you use the factory seat back for your lid?

That is pretty much exactly what I want to do. Did you make it yourself, and if so can you give me any diagrams you have made?

didnt do any diagrams, just used cardboard to get the shape of the interior and transferred that to mdf

not really that difficult, although yours may be more involved as i actually left the rear seat cushion in place...free sound deadening

I am doing it because my rear hatch seal leaks at the top, and got water on the rear seat cushion and well, it isn't good at all any more.
