I'd be all over it if I knew anything about tops, I'm not a 'vert kind of guy anyway

I wish I could just take off all the good parts but I doubt anyone would want a bare cab shell

I wish it talked a little more about miles and service history (belts, pump, etc.)

I just heard back from the seller. Car HAD 132K on it when it stopped working, he bought it in December and it wasn't working then either. He also doesn't know any service history on the car. RUN my friends!

bah, mileage is not that big of a deal. For the price it might be a good buy. Tops are not too expensive but the labor to install one can be $800-$1000.

According to Jay, it is in non-running condition, and given the lister's choice to be scarce on the details, I wouldn't doubt it has issues.

Since you can find running ones in the sub $10k zone that are pretty nice, well maintained cars this one would have to be able to get to that point with less than $6k worth of work.

Who ever buys it would need to have access to used parts and self perform all the labor in order for it to make sense.

Now if you said $1800 you'd have my attention

After some thought I figured Jay was only talking about the odometer not working.

Joel,
You are correct, only the odometer isn't working. I was thinking about it, but now I have backed off since this thing could have 200K on it for all I know.

I think they are, but I don't think you would notice as a street car and I know plenty of people that do well with cabs at DE and AX.

I don't think it is all that bad. I'm personally not concerned about lack of service records. It doesn't cost much to replace belts, hoses, etc. Assuming it has good compression numbers, at least.

I have to say, I'd find this thing to be very temping if I didn't already have seven cars. My track car is the same color combo. I sure would like to snag this one, do a powertrain swap (S2's are the best cars for E-class), and fix up the interior with my track car's parts. It would be very easy to have a great, fun little cab that way.

Having said that, if anyone decides they may want this, I can hook you up with some seats.
