Default 924GTR 375HP $375,000

There is a 924GTR race car for sale at the Vegas Auto Showroom for $375,000. The info sheet states it is 1 of 17 made and produces 375hp. That must be the most expensive 924 for sale at the moment...

I'm sure that you could buy a 968 Turbo RS for a lot less, and it's much more rare.

Hmm pretty sure i'd get more enjoyment putting that money into my own project and actually learning the car back to front, rather than just buying one and driving it.

Chassis was never even one of the orig race cars, just a spare... horrendously overpriced for what it is. Which is why it's been sitting there for a LONG time.

Hey, everything's for sale, for the right price!

Shame they couldn't keep it in good condition...

I was under the impression that car had some racing provenance:

Le Mans 24 Hours, 24 Heures du Mans, 20 June 1982
Driven by: Jim Busby (USA)/Doc Bundy (USA)
DNS: Marcel Mignot (F); listed, never drove: Manfred Schurti (FL), James Brolin (USA), Pat Bedard (USA)
Result: 16th 1st in IMSA GTO
Grid: 55th (4:14.070)

Daytona 24 Hours, 22nd Annual SunBank 24 at Daytona Camel GT, 05 Feb 1984
Driven by: Elliot Forbes-Robinson (USA)/John Schneider (USA)/Ken Williams (USA)
Result: 21st
Grid: 43rd (2:11.839)

Charlotte 500 Kilometres, Charlotte Camel GT 500, 20 May 1984
Driven by: Elliot Forbes-Robinson (USA)
Result: 49th - did not finish
Grid: 24th (1:15.837)

Yes, but this is one of the more unique cars having won it's class at LeMans using BFG street tires. Unique car. $375k is a bit much, but it has much more history than and 968. That is what they are selling here.

{Edit}
If it has no competition history and was only a back up car or just painted like the real 87 BFG car it is sham and horribly over priced.

Actually, the Panorama write-up was on the D-Production (normally aspirated) cars, not the GTRs...the GTRs were the turbo-charged successors when rule changes made the D-Prods uncompetitive.
