Post Pics - front end stripped & raised for engine install

I got stuck into the car today and prepped the front end to get the motor back in. I decided I will put it in from underneath this time. I added more pics to the web site as usual My web page. I attached one here though.

I did the braided fuel lines today as well - man those dremel grinders make it sooo easy to cut off the existing crimp fittings where the fuel lines go through the fender wall.

Cheers,
Wayne

SATX
944T,

All I can say is: "That is an unbelievably thorough rebuild."

For some reason I have the motivation to go out to the garage right now and start pulling my car apart.

Good work, I can't wait to see it done.

Just a suggestion,

Put boots behind the rear wheels so the car dosn't move when you trying to put the engine in...

Looks good!

Thanks.

Sure thing Perry, I came up with a big list of stuff to do in sequence so that the job would be as simple as possible while so much of the car is apart.

Thats my 90 E30 BMW 325i - which refuses to start at the moment (bad crank angle sensor I think).

Its funny but I really enjoy working on the Porsche - even though I dont have to and its usually a bitch to get access to everything, but I find it a pain to work on the BMW even though I really should have it running and its a much easier car to work on as well. Sick eh ?

Hows this for a method of moving the engine easily whilst still maintaing a low profile. The dowel roller idea is definitely and old method but a good one! It took only about 5 minutes to get the engine in place - single handed.

Cheers,
Wayne
