Pics - front end stripped & raised for engine install
I got stuck into the car today and prepped the front end to get the motor back in. I decided I will put it in from underneath this time. I added more pics to the web site as usual My web page. I attached one here though.
I did the braided fuel lines today as well - man those dremel grinders make it sooo easy to cut off the existing crimp fittings where the fuel lines go through the fender wall.
Cheers,
Wayne

[quote] Don't forget to run you cruise and throttle cables before you put the motor in!!!

Sure thing Perry, I came up with a big list of stuff to do in sequence so that the job would be as simple as possible while so much of the car is apart.
[quote] btw whats the VW? car out there?

Thats my 90 E30 BMW 325i - which refuses to start at the moment (bad crank angle sensor I think).
Its funny but I really enjoy working on the Porsche - even though I dont have to and its usually a bitch to get access to everything, but I find it a pain to work on the BMW even though I really should have it running and its a much easier car to work on as well. Sick eh ?

Hows this for a method of moving the engine easily whilst still maintaing a low profile. The dowel roller idea is definitely and old method but a good one! It took only about 5 minutes to get the engine in place - single handed.
