Default The Recovery Begins *** Down the homestretch!!!***

After getting rear ended last week, I decided to take the car to a local paint/body shop and bring it back to some semblence of respectability. I have had the car for 12 years, so spending a few bucks on it now.
I will try to post pics of the process as it goes forward.

Good luck, however if the car isn't in great shape the money your putting into it may be better spent on acquiring a new 944 (or s2 ). Good luck either way, post up those pics!

The car is actually in pretty good shape.
Means more to me than I can get in cash. So spending a few bucks to get it back to respectability, not concours, is OK by me.
As for getting another car, I don't want to inherit someone else's basket case. I know every nut and bolt on this car.
So I will fix her up as best I can.
Stay tuned.

Met with the body shop today. Agreed on a price and timeline.
Not going to mention the price until after the work is done.

It is going to be a complete repaint. Taking off anything that can be removed. Fixing all rough spots etc.

Pics of the damage etc. Will go up this weekend, when I have time.

Pete, you deserve huge props for giving that 944 a new lease on life. It's never easy sinking money into these cars, but at the end of the day you just need to do what feels right. Good on you!

The photos are coming, just been a crazy week.
Of course I am fixing the car. I have owned it for over 12 years. Can't just let it go.

Met with the body shop yesterday. He says he can fix it all. I am providing new bumper shocks and new end caps. Still looking for bumper pads.

Good luck with your restore. Shouldn't be too bad. Mine got rear ended by a Dodge Ram, chick driving was texting. I'm still collecting parts to do the repair myself.
