The front windshield trim is already off. He is going to pull the quarter windows as well. He is big into not painting around things like that.

I am probably going to keep the side marker.
I am on the fence about the moldings. But I can make that decision at the end of the process.
He is going to paint them, and prep them for installation. But not put them on unless I say so.
I will even be able to take them home with the adhesive on them, and do it much later if I want.
Right now, even in the rough state the car is in, I am leaning towards deleting them.

I would have pulled the side molding too, but no full repaint for me.

Wish I didn't see those pics.

For some reason I have always sort of liked the side markers over the euro no marker look.

But please do not put the moldings back on, they destroy the look of the 944 all together lol.

I did the same thing (paint and prep the side strips) but haven't put them back on yet.

Take the rear windows out, peel the black trim back and pull the inner side panels off carefully (good time to replace your rear speakers as well).

You definitely need to have them take off the drip guards though. There are a bunch of clips underneath (8 per side I believe) and there are two long thin rubber seals underneath. I reccommend replacing those as well, and order the 4 new seals to go behind the door handles (easy to install) and a new seal for around the hatch lock that can be easily installed with soapy water.

You should also remove the side mirrors but they can be a major PITA and the seals are very temperamental but cheap to buy (definitely a two person job). I don't regret for a second putting in the extra time to do it.

Take the hatch seal off too, they probably just didn't get to it in the last pic you posted.

If you need any info/advice, get in touch with me.

All good info. He is taking everything off the car. He hates painting around seals etc.
Going to stop by on the way home from work tomorrow for a progress check.

Thanks for the compliment on the car. It was getting tired looking so this incident gave me the kick I needed to get the car worked up inside and out.
Once it is back from the shop, then I have to replace driver's control arm and the oil pan gasket.
Both are bad.
The fun never stops!
