Hello, and thank you for the response Aussie944S!

Yes, your response was made sense, and is helpful.

I understand the part about the remote buttons not working. At this time I just want to find the correct flip housing for our key blades. I have an aftermarket alarm remote, so I am planning on doing some surgery(breaking) to make it fit.

This photo shows the hidden part of the tip/blade of the key for a 1988 944, but this tip/blade will fit from what I understand all key heads for any Porsche, only thing I don't know is if the flip FOB will fit.

I did however remember that the Cayenne and Turage have the same key FOB, my mate has one and I will check it out.

Thank again Aussie944S,

Yep that is the exact blade I have.

This image below looks like the flip keys have a single groove channel where a tiny lock pin holds the key onto the FOB.

Maybe I could get an all metal VW key made and hacksaw the sides off, and than take a dremel and create that groove channel to support the lock pin.

That would be possible, a lot of work but possible.

Just looked at my mates VW key its the same as your picture, he also has a blank key but is slightly different to your picture, yours has a slight cut out on the left side. His is all flat(one price).... anyway we did some measurements and his key blank is the same length and width, only thicker ever so slightly.

Point I'm getting at is you could get the blank cut to your shape and presto your on your way..... in theory.

But this has given me some ideas.

Less work would be better
I was hoping our 924/944 key blades would have been a straight bolt on but not everything can be easy right.

After I figure the blade part out I hope to custom fit my aftermarket alarm remote into the flip case.

Hmmm...give birth to more ideas.

I think it would be pretty bad *** to have a flip key thing for the 944. I like the one for my VW because the key doesn't get caught in my pocket and go up my *** when I sit down. It would be even cooler if it was like a switch blade and shot out of the middle of the key fob instead of just folding off to the side.

Switch blade action would be very cool!
I better add this to the weekend search list.

Here ya go Chunkerz!

I had luck using this keyword "keyless slide key" to find it on eBay.
Now I gotta figure out how that key blade is designed.

So now we are beginning to create some doable options.
Again for now I am not too concerned with the remote part.
Spray paint and some Porsche vinyl and it's gonna look badass! You know you can see it in your mind already!

I sent out a few emails so hopefully we'll soon know more about the type of blades it accepts.

It's a shame that I recently bought a new key handle with the light. I'd hate to see it go to waste, but I want that more....

Hello Everyone,
I just created a new thread to share my fllipkey project results.

https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...y-project.html

Didn't want to overload an old thread with a bunch of images.
