What do you look for in a car meet?

I was thinking of hosting a meet at my home in the late spring, and I was wondering what do you guys look for in a meet?
I was thinking more of a general meet and greet, with a BBQ and of course I would love to show off my garage...

Having hosted some and attended others, here's what I find...
BBQ, food and beer is always good... although one has to be aware of the risks of too much beer.
Having guests bring a side dish or whatever also helps on the wallet.
Ample parking space is also very nice since it gives us a chance to have a mini-car show. I don't have very good parking where I'm at so that is something that ends up lacking since people often aren't going to wander all over the neighborhood to look casually look at cars. A local Porsche guy in Great Falls has a huge back yard that opens up into a field so it has been a great opportunity to crawl around each other's cars.
I tend to avoid going on drives since I worry that there is the potential for automotive stupidity when you get a bunch of car guys driving their sports cars in a pack. This may not be as big of an issue as I'm concerned with but hey, it happens.
Wrenching parties can be fun, too. One great way to show off your garage is to work on people's cars in it. Of course, that means you have people working on their cars in your garage which runs the risk of things getting messed up or walking away. I've never had a problem with that, tho.
One time we went to the local indoor karting place which made a great wrap-up of the evening, but it's not necessary to do things like that.
Hope this helps!

Well parking shouldn't be a problem, my family has a garden center on the property and that provides ample parking. That is also why if, I do host a meet, it has to be after June 15 or so.

A short cruise adds in a huge amount of fun. Especially if you are dedicating the car meet for 944's or Porsches. I have hosted several car meets, mostly 944 meets and everyone seems to love cruising in a big group, even if it's just a couple short miles to a photogenic spot.

sorry, got a bit carried away... start with coffee at a nice country club or something like a stone castle with a nice wide open area so that it's just the castle and the cars for making good photos and showing off the hardware.
