Default Cab Owners - automatic car wash?

ok, just got back from using the quarter car wash to get the salt of the S2 because the manual says not to run the car through an automatic wash. I do like the under car spray of the auto wash, so does anyone run their cabriolets through the car wash? touchless or the brush kind?

thanks

Ask Rock what happened to his cab when he took it through the auto wash...

You must hate your car to take it through any auto wash, brushless or not. I don't even trust my truck in those things.

944 Cabs and auto washers don't mix well. The brushes are hard on the top frame, easily snap, and the brushless is too powerful especially where the rear seem meets. Plus if your seals are 20 years old you will get a lot of water coming in. JMO.

Hes right. I took one of them through an automatic wash and it blew the rear window out and sent it flying to the front of the car. Never gone through one since.

You Cab drivers need to check out the all new and improved car washes. They now have a Special Deal where your interior is completely cleaned AND dried. They now have Gone Green and use only recycled water. Only available for a short time on HOT! HOT! Sunny Days.

Cheers,
Larry

Just got home and sprayed the salt off my cab in the garage. A little water gets in around the doors even with my wimpy pressure washer. I do wish I had a better way to do the underside.

I guess have to put is away for the winter

thanks all - you've confirmed what I thought. the brushes are too hard on the top, and the touchless is going to spray about 100 gallons of water past the seals and into the interior. looks like I'll have to keep taking my bucket to the manual wash

Automatic car washes?

N E V E R

Regardless of whether Coupé or Cabriolet. Do as your owner's manual states: "Wash your Porsche by hand!" ;-)
