Pete, I hope you can make it!

Just for reference; the 12 Hours of Sebring is the weekend of March 17-20. There's usually a good-size Porsche corral that might compete for some Florida 944's that weekend. I'm really looking forward to your get-together and seeing a bunch of 944's all in one place.
Good call! I forgot all about the 12 Hours. Hmm... I wonder if there is anything happening on March 6th?

By the way, I saw photos of your 951 on Florida German shortly after you got it. It didn't look rough at all. Nice find.
Cool! Did I meet you at FixxFest 09 in Bradenton a couple months ago?

And thanks, however the pictures lie!!! I think I am just a good photographer, that's all Honestly the car is not too bad, but compared to some other 951's at this turnout, it might look shameful in comparison! It has like over 200k miles and just shows signs of old age. But it runs great and handles even better!

Another awesome project as it sounds! We have a customer at work with a 930 RS clone which is BAD ***!! Wish I had a picture of it. Would love to see pics of yours once its finished!

If you need any 944 parts down there, I have family in the junkyard business that specializes in European cars. They won't have any 911 stuff for you but they should probably have most used 951 parts available, if you need anything.

No, I wasn't at FixxFest. I hope to meet everyone in March.

As I mentioned in an earlier post, the track project is pretty homely. I might need a right front fender and possibly the font spoiler (assuming I can't find anything locally between now and then). Thanks.

Ah ok. I met someone with a red 89 n/a at FixxFest, and he too mentioned seeing my car on Florida German.

What color is your track car? I have 2 spare passenger fenders, one white and one red. Unfortunately I don't have a spare front valence in good condition, but I have a whole 83 parts car if you need anything else!

Elliot,

Sounds like a fun day. I live just south of Melbourne, about an hour south of Orlando. If I can get my 83 cleaned up I would love to make it up there.

The track car is charcoal. I have one or two places to check out nearby. If I can't find anything between now and the gathering, I'll contact you a week or two before the event. Thanks.

Aaron, it would be awesome if you can make it!! If you'd like, I can get you in touch with the south FL crew, or anyone headed up from down south, so you can cruise together. I know it's not too far of a drive for you, but taking the trip with another couple 944's makes it more exciting! Let me know if you're interested..!

Sounds good, just let me know what you will need by then and I can bring stuff to the event!

Chip - Awesome, I'm looking forward to seeing that car again. You still hold the record for being the only Cab to come!!

Edit: I stand corrected, there were actually 2 other cabs that attended one of the earlier meets..! But yours has been the only one to show up to the meets that you have attended!!

Kevin - good call. Do you think they would mind if a group of 30 Porsches stopped by around 1pm to hang out for a few? Our route literally takes us right by there. Might be a bit odd for them to make room for so many cars though, not sure if it's a good idea. If it were a PCA auto-x it might be better... dunno, what do you think?

If there was a local autocross that weekend I would love to go to that...but then I might have to stuff the race tires in the back of the 944 lol.

Well, I think it would be cool! Might be a squeeze to get all of you in , but if you recall the site, usually the very, very back section of the road course stays car free, so it is possible it could accommodate your group (maybe parking in two rows end to end, remember parking on the grass is a no no).

My original thought though was is you had some out of towner it might be another draw or excuse to make the trek, i.e. you have your cruise/meet Saturday and some could auox on Sunday.

Kevin... I like that idea a lot... 944 meet/cruise on the 6th and then autocross for those who are interested on the 7th. Sounds like a great plan to keep the out-of-towners busy for the whole weekend if they choose to stay.

I should know by the end of this upcoming week when the date will be set. So far it's looking like March 6th. Anybody out there have plans for that day already?

Looks like a Blue S2 from the Washington DC area will be heading down, if anyone else from that area is interested in coming.
