So I pulled it apart finally to find the reason for its untimely demise...utter and total destruction from rust. I think the motor literally seized because of the corrosion.
Before I go pick one up at DC Auto, anyone got one for sale? My linkage is still good, but I'll take a whole linkage and motor still together if you don't want to take yours apart.

I have a few complete assemblies sitting in my shop that I can sell complete or just remove the motor from. Shoot me an email at APartAbove@aol.com and we can figure something out.

I have a different application, but i purchased a rebuilt motor from Advance Auto Parts. It is a cardone1 brand and it was about 75 bucks. The warrenty is a year IIRC. No problems after 2 years.

Guys, pulling the motor off with the worm gear is not difficult if you have the right sized screwdriver and you can find some way to move the linkage around to access all the screws.
Pulling the motor away from the worm gear housing is difficult because the circuit board at the top is grounded to the housing in a way that is difficult to remove and of course the magnets are fighting you.
I need the front motor, as a clarification. A part above, I will send you an email.

i REALLY need to lube mine...it makes sounds but flows fine..i think some penetrating fluid along with some white lithium would be helpful.

what about a wiper motor from a scrapped jetta or some other german car, and make it work ?
there was a thread about how many porsche parts are interchangable with VW, audi, etc, and the list was astonishing... there's like 80 jettas at 2 yards near my home. i am not sure where the thread is... i think it was in the 911 forums believe it or not... this link might not be very useful, but maybe you all can add links.

i found this thread interesting, even if i don't agree with the op.

I'll start trying that when I can't get a good deal at a pick-n-pull like apartabove or dcauto. But until that happens it makes more sense to go ahead and get the porsche part that I know will fit.
