Post OT - Nissan 350Z

Look at this and the price just keeps going and going. Somebody's gonna pay a pretty penny for this ride but why not, it's all going to charity. 350Z Auction

I finally went to the stealer to check one out. Pretty damn sweet. Tho the interior wasn't to my liking. Typical Nissan interior.

I also thought the interior was full of after thoughts.. The switches on the sterring wheel look way out of place almost like generic switches just thrown into the car.

I liked this car when I first saw pics and read about it. After a quick trip to the local Nissan dealer, I've changed my mind. The "track model" is now going for 50-52k and they are sold out for the next 6 months apparently. 50K? Are they mad? Its "market demand value" apparently, but for 50K i'll take a new boxter or a vette even. 287HP for 50K..unreal.

That's a big ten four good buddy!

I saw a new two door Infinity on the road that looked like the 350Z could that be there version of the car? I think it was a Q35 (could be wrong) The car had dealer plates and looked way cool but as I was maneuvering through traffic to get a better look at it I noticed the exhaust sounded like a sewing machine!

It is the G35 coupe. Not on sale yet in the US but will be coming out shortly. It is more or less a 2+2 version of the 350Z with the same engine minus about 10 hp and not as still of suspension. Other than that it is the same car, except probably has a nicer interior since its an Infinity.

the new Infiniti G35 is a Skyline for the states. you guys need to respect Nissan a bit more.. they're makin' some good stuff. And 50k for a Z is obviously too much since msrp is 35.. just wait for demand to go down, you know coopers are going for 30 too right? doesn't make them worth it.....

That's got to be it, the car looked mean. Would not mind parking one in my garage. Funny that the driver couldn't understand why I was ziping through traffic rubber necking to look at the car. Maybe he though I was trying to race him in my 2001 Hyundai. Varooom Varooom!

Maybe if I get one of those coffee can exhaust systems I could kick his a$$.

I have a G35(sedan) loaner car for my QX4. It kicks ***! It is not a M3, but for the price, I was surprised. It turns in way quicker than my 944 spec car or my turbo. It handles nice. The power is impressive. I was impressed, so much that I went out and started playing with the suspension on my spec-car to try to get that same feel! NS! That was the sedan. HUM, I wonder what the coupe will be like?
"287hp for 50K?" What does a Boxster cost?

Those 3.5 liter sixes are sweet, so much torque.

Around list it's hard to find anything near it's performance. Sort of like the original Z. Let's hope they don't go into the 'ZX' mode too soon like they did with the first series.

Some of the aftermarket stuff for the first Z's was the tasteful precursor to the rice add ons we see now. You could get nice headlamp covers, wider wheels, exhaust and suspension ugprades, carb upgrades, most of it track derived as many people took these to the track. They were just a great car back then.
