Guys, NO ONE has fuel injectors for an 89 944, and I can't find anyone who will rebuild them (something about flow rates according to Vertex). Of course, the dealer has 'em for 140 each but when an 88 944 can get 'em for 70 each I'm a little frustrated to say the least.
Now, this may be a stupid question, not too sure - but I suppose I couldn't go with MY 88 fuel injectors or something of that nature? Then maybe a air/fuel sensor and if need-be an adjustable fuel setup (probably STILL cheaper then 500+ worth of fuel injectors), and I'd have a decent setup waiting for me in a year or so when I'd be looking to supercharge...? What do you guys think?
TIA
-Matt

Try Chris White at 944 Enhancement... He either has 'em, or knows someone who can rebuild em.

Well, www.injector.com says they can do it - but they didn't see any reason why other places wouldn't be able to do it... is that good or bad? Does Vertex know something that these guys don't? What if they rebuild them to 88 944 specs... how much damage could that do to the engine?
Thanks,
Matt

IMHO, www.injector.com specilizes in fuel injection, so I would trust them. Did you price new? I bought a new matched set of 72 lb for $380.
You can double check with Chris White as Jay mentioned, either place will treat you right.

I just had my S2 injectors rebuilt for $25 ea. The guy who did it is in the middle of nowhere outside my town in Mississippi, he's semi-retired from Lincoln and other companies and claims that he can handle any Bosch-type system. I saw his flow-testing machine. Looked very old school, and he told me that he bought it 12 yrs ago or so, but I've been really pleased with the fresh injectors. Email me if you need this guy.
