you guys will hate me... my first car was in november 1991. i purchased an '87 944 n/a with 17,400 miles at auction for $4,700.00 [recovered theft vehicle, where its my guess the owner was broke] in guards red having slashed seats, slashed up door upholstry on passenger side some keyed up paint, and broken passenger side door handle.
I drove that car to 129,000 miles when an oil leak developed on a high-speed run from Austin to Odessa, Texas to see my gf. and umm btw, I only did 1 timing belt at 55,000 miles, and changed the oil.

Oh sweet, factory alarm option! A couple of days with a buffer would totally turn that car into a head turner!
I'm looking for a silver one but GLWS dude.

Yeh, this car could clean up with a few body panels and detailing...I was going to piece it back together and paint it, but I have way too many other projects going on...

good parts car at the most. there's dozens of intact cars in Jersey, in the backs of many shops getting dust. call around, but then again, it takes a lot to scare off a 944 motorhead.

I disagree, and that's not just because i'm trying to sell the car. Why destroy a perfectly good car by parting it? It just needs a few body panels and it could be brought back to descent condition. Yeh, there are plenty of cars to be found, but they will continue to dwindle as years go on..

Mike... A guy down the street from me in Medway, Mass. has a beautiful 944 for sale right now. I passed by it by chance. I dunno. Guards Red too. I just think you can save so much time/money by getting a whole car, being that theres just tons of them around.
