I disagree, and that's not just because i'm trying to sell the car. Why destroy a perfectly good car by parting it? It just needs a few body panels and it could be brought back to descent condition. Yeh, there are plenty of cars to be found, but they will continue to dwindle as years go on..
Depends on how you look at it. From an emotional standpoint, the car is a couple hundred bucks in parts, and 25 labor hours away from being a survivor.
From a purely economic standpoint, the primary parts (engine, transmission, brakes, wheels, interior) are probably worth $3,000 or more, and those parts would keep the rest of the 944 "fleet" running. Obviously, someone else decided to treat is as a parts car! I say finish the job.
Mike... A guy down the street from me in Medway, Mass. has a beautiful 944 for sale right now. I passed by it by chance. I dunno. Guards Red too. I just think you can save so much time/money by getting a whole car, being that theres just tons of them around.
Yeah but this one is running and that makes a huge difference. Those parts could be picked up for 150 bucks and an hour on Craigslist. Not to mention its a very easy color to match panels for.... "Hella Faded Guards Red"
