The 924 is a good car, but it wasn't made for dragging. If that's what turns your crank, you've got the wrong car. The factory should take back their cars from people who drag race them. Drag racing is for...oh, never mind.

I confess, in my days of youth, I was known to drive around country roads above the speed limit. Had some close calls too. But IMO, "fast and dangerous" back then was a lot safer than what that means today. But that's no excuse. Stopped doing that stuff after I got out of college. And I have never street raced.

Well, you cannot guarantee that. There is no 100% guarantee that an innocent bystander won't get hurt or killed while someone is driving on the street excessively fast. There is no guarantee that such an accident won't happen on a track, either, but the chances are far less, and most people at the track know the dangers.
[quote]
...or should i sit and watch posts you make just to talk down to you for having done something. no. its my life, my car, and i can make every "stupid" decision i want to in it. dont tell me otherwise cause its my *** if i get hurt or someone else does not yours. so bugger off!

Frankly, I don't care if you do something stupid and it effects only you. But you miss my point, my friend: driving too fast on the street can hurt other people! There are way too many stories of street racing gone bad and too many bystanders get hurt and killed. And that's where I draw the line, and stand up: you only think you or your friends are the only ones who'd get hurt or killed. Not true, not true. I think many people who are injured or killed due to excessive speed and dangerous driving weren't too happy about the situation, so how can you speak on their behalf?

I'll make a deal with you: stop driving too fast on the street, and I'll "bugger off."
Yeah, we have fast and exciting cars. They are fun to drive, but they require some level of responsibility and self control.

If I've pissed someone off because of my opinion, I OFFER NO APOLOGY! You see, it PISSES ME OFF when I hear about someone who got killed because of street racing or reckless drivers.
So, now that we're both PISSED off, have a nice day.

I'm not gonna sit here and just make fun of you. my first post ever was back in the excite days about getting clear corners on my 944. i got clowned worse than bozo.

and i wont talk **** cause you were drag racing. allthought its incredibly stupid ESPECIALLY on a traffic packed street, you might be immature. im not gonna say "you might be young," because im only 17 but i dont drive stupid like that.

what i will ridicule you for is sitting here lying about what your car IS NOT capable of. Drag racing an auto 924 and smoking mustangs.. c'mon now man, lets be realistic.

if you were lying to some rice racers about doing this, thats one thing, in a conversation mode. but to come here among people who own these cars and know their capabilities, thats just scandalous.

whats that smell?? its not brake fluid? coolant? clutch? hmmm... nope, its just bull****.

[quote] Maybe James S. was trained by the British police to race throught trafic. They are on of the few organizations in the world that do. And the practice with real traffic, without telling the public.

Tabor, you never miss a trick do you? I failed to spot that dig earlier.

They also use real babies for firearms practice. And you know what makes the Great British banger sooo tasty? Nuns! Yep, we grind 'em up and push 'em into sausage skins. You could say they're so good as to be habit forming.

When we aren't being the villains in every major Hollywood movie, we have to blow off steam somehow. You're a one of a kind, keep it up!

Ummm ... this is why the term "accident" is used. Sure, you're not planning on killing anyone, but you never know who will be out walking on a street at a crazy hour. Even though it may be 2am, they still have the right of way.

Alright guys, I think he gets the point. All of us have been known to stretch a story or two. He is a fellow P-car owner, maby we could help him get into a 5-speed though. In any case, he has to have some taste.......he owns a porsche. -Turby

This wasn't meant to be offensive to the British. It was meant to show the likelyhood that he was in fact trained by the British Police to do this (chances are very small).

In some ways the British system works a lot better than the American system. Our Police are trained on closed tracts without any other cars. Does that really work that well? Probably not. I think you are stuck in a loose-loose situation.

There were videos of this trainign floating around the net, I wish I still had copies. Anybody?

nib5,

Guess what I heard on the radio the other day? In a large survey, it was determined that British tourests were the nicest in the world, and Americans came in second. However the Americans would learn more of the native language, tip better, and not get as balidgerent when drunk.
