lol, well some automatics do take skill to drive, like in a hot rodded 400+ horsepower car where launching is a bit more complicated than flooring it...
And, the only mustang you'd possibly be able to take would be one of the older 4 cylinder automatics.. then it would be a good race.

Maybe James S. was trained by the British police to race throught trafic. They are on of the few organizations in the world that do. And the practice with real traffic, without telling the public .

Mainly what I was referring to as far as 14.7psi is atmospheric pressure. Boost gauges that measure in bar start at 0.2 bar, so yes technically 1 bar is 14.5psi. But in my original post I was just saying that boost occurs when manifold pressure changes from vacuum to positive pressure. I was not talking about what your boost gauge says. I was talking about the fundamental aspect of an engine with a turbo and when it makes boost but you said,
“Oh...and its not when it changes from negative manifold pressure to positive...it’s when it changes from 0, to positive. That’s what my boost gauge says anyway, which is hooked up guess where...the intake manifold.”
The point I was making, which goes back to just the basics of the internal combustion engine, is that an engine’s manifold is under vacuum(negative) when it’s running until the turbo pushes enough air to counteract the vacuum effect and begin to make pressure in the manifold. But the main point and reason I got a little miffed with what you said, is that it doesn’t matter what you think your boost gauge says, that’s totally irrelevant, a turbo engine IS under boost once it comes from 1: vacuum, then into 2: neutral pressure (14.7), and finally 3: under positive pressure which is any pressure over atmospheric inside the manifold. But what you said was that boost occurs “when it changes from 0, to positive”. No matter what your gauge says and whether it starts reading at negative or neutral is totally irrelevant to what I originally said.
Adrial, when an engine is idling, is there vacuum in the manifold? When the turbo makes boost, is there pressure in the manifold? The answer to both is YES. That is all I was saying and somehow you started talking about what your gauge says???????????
I’m sorry you took offense to what I was saying but I just don’t have very much patience when someone calls me on a very simple point.

The only thing I disagree with is that an engine does not require a turbo to get to atmospheric pressure (no vacum, no pressure).
If you take an n/a car, stick a vac gauge on it and floor it...you see neither vacum nor boost, but atmospheric pressure (or very close to it).
So, like I said it does not have to be from negative to positive, but can be from zero to positive...Such as when you floor a turbo car at 1500rpm and see no vac, no pressure...then wait for the revs to climb to say 4500rpm where you see full boost, say 12psi...in that time it transitioned from atmospheric pressure, to 12psi boost.
How is what my boost gauge says irrelevant? What my boost gauge says is exactly what is going on in the intake manifold.
Apologies for my poor attitude...hope we can go on having a relatively intelligent conversation.

ya ok so i phrased it bad, im sorry, what i was refering to was that i taking classes on close driving as in not 10 20 feet in every direction. many people driving fixed up cars dont really know how to handle thier car in between others while on a bend or whatever. im not trying to say im some super driver. just driving lessons at the track help you for when you get bored and some body wants a challenge. funny bout the police i like that. guess kinda forgot lots of tracks train with you with dummie cars to learn how to handle. but hey whatever. i leave it to you pros to show em up

I would understand a 924 turbo or a 924s manual. But a 924S auto? how many cars can you beat with that car? not many that's for sure.
what's the 0 to 60 time on a 924S auto?

now you're just being stupid, er, wait, you were before, too.
I think you'd be really lucky to break 9-10 seconds 0-60 in that thing.

I am not going to waste my time getting into a pissing contest with an idiot who thinks his 924 AUTOMATIC can take a mustang. You are not the sharpest tool in the shed and your Posts are ADD and childish at best.
I have no fear of ever running into you on the street AMAF my car is no longer even street legal.
LOOK AROUND AMAF YOU ARE IN SOME FAST COMPANY.
So quit being such a poser.
