I would bet they purchased this car at an auction for less than $2200 bucks. I know of a local guy in INDY who purchased a 951 from an auction 8 months ago for $3300. The ecomony is not getting much better so i would say its TRUE.

Aftermarket OTS replacement belts, jegs.. summit racing..etc

The front seats..I know them... 80s Supra, 300Z, 28Z something along those lines... I know the seats though... they are out of an 80s Japanese import...

Those wheels and seats look horrible. I'd say the price is right.

I'd be ok with them if they were real Recaros. But I think I will still hold off on a 951 until I come across a red 86.

I dunno, I picked mine up for $3200 with pristine leather sport interior, needed polished... belts and such, but in reality what 951 for sale on e-bay doesn't need belts and such? Wheels were perfect on mine...

as picked up:

but then I did pick mine up on the cheap...

The ad lists yellow as the exterior color. Wonder if they have the right pictures? Still think $3500 is too low for a running 951, but I've probably had too much Kool-Aid.

Why would someone give him his full asking price and then pass up on the free maintenance service that was offered as being provided for free to go along with the full asking price ????

None of it makes any sense to me at all. It's all a little too strange.
The buy-it-now option can disappear automatically when the reserve price is met. So probably what happened is that bidder A met the reserve but didn't want to bid the BIN price, and then bidder B came along and out-bid A and exceeded the (now gone) BIN price.

Also the seller said that the water pump service would only be done if the BIN option was used (it wasn't).
