Default EMERGENCY! Need a Transaxle ASAP!

Big Problem.

The Ring and Pinion just left me. Seven teeth are off and floating through the transmission somewhere.

The car is a 1984 944. The gearbox was a normal 5-speed with the lame fifth and open diff. I'd love to buy a box with a shorter 5th and LSD.

Does anyone either have one or place that sells rebuilds? I'll pay shipping and top dollar. I just need the damn thing.

The problem is I have to have the car ready for the Glen by next weekend.

I'll rent you mine. It's sitting in the hatch of my car right now because I'm in the middle of an extended clutch job. Shifts pretty well, seeps a bit at the rear (but doesn't drip unless it sits for more than a day), has short 5th and LSD.

Make me an offer? Shipping will be a b* to PA though...

i have a standard NA box out of an 84 if you want it, shipping will be painful though.

you may need to custom engineer a mount for the passenger side of a late tranny. i had to make a plate when i put a turbo box in my early.

944S with 80-90,000 miles. no issues. $600 plus shipping. same gear sets as a turbo but with a NA final drive. non-LSD look at Clark's garage for ratio comparisons. PM me if interested. I can ship on Tuesday.

Seems like a small operation. Think he'll answer his phone tommorrow?
