Post OT: Video, no replacement for displacement

Spotted this on Corner-Carvers. Holy ****.

I want one. No, scratch that. I want my 951 to sound/go like that. What would it take? A 3.0L with a big *** turbo and lots of tuning? I dont know that a 951 could ever have that kind of low end.

this is a right-clicker

Water944T-

I LOVE your latest sig- I've been saying similar things the last few years- don't get me started- and seeing what's her ***, Rosie Odonnel, yelling at the NRA saying crap like "WE are putting YOU on notice...." Easy for a bitch like that- she's rich enough to have a group of off-duty cops surrounding her at all times to carry her "protection" for her....

Where do you find all these quotes anyway? You just read a lot of history and pick it up quickly? I think I'm mostly amazed at how much the stuff those guys (Washington, Jefferson, Franklin, etc) said still applies today- maybe even more today than ever...

I'm about to download the video too- thanks....

Robby & Water944T, all I can say, is that "1984" has come and gone and "big-brother" has crept up on us much more slyly than we've could've imagined. I've been trying to get a BBC/Red-Cross documentary on U.S. actions in Afghanistan for months now. Four separate shipments from four non-related people from four different countries have simply 'disappeared'...

Danno- sad but true! Very strange about the "dissapearing shipments"....

Sam- I agree that the Vette is one of our best. I like the older original ones myself though- really, my favorites, are when they went to the dual headlights, like in '58 or so. What I hate about newer ones (and pretty much all of them) are their interiors- American cars just look like American cars inside for some reason- no comparison to Euro's unfortunately. As a matter of fuct, I don't even like the new Porsche interiors- I like the 951 interior and older 911's, but the Boxster look just doesn't impress me- better than American cars, but still, no Audi- that's for sure.

BTW- speaking of "big brother is watching"- anyone here about the little black boxes that have been installed in all American cars since '99? They are for the air bags and record the last few seconds before the air bag is deployed, so, in the event of an accident, they are able to download the info into a computer and see what exactly occured before the wreck, like the speed, the amount of reaction time it took for the driver to hit the brakes (if he did), how he reacted basically- this is kind of freaky if you ask me. Anyway, just one more way to moniter society- they claim it only has anything to do w/anything in the event of an accident- it also helps them in court BTW- easier to tell if the person was drinking- it's SUPPOSED to be "save lives" by relaying information (of a wreck, location, etc) immediately, in the event of an accident, thereby getting police, ambulances, etc there faster- I hate air bags to begin with- I don't plan to own a car w/an air bag, so in the event I buy one, the black box comes out WITH the air bags... Now, if only I could get the fu**ing horn to work in my Turbo S since I've installed my Momo

Oh yeah- great video BTW!

OMG guys. Please lets go political on a thread.

I am a US Navy vet. I proudly served, as my father before me. As my grandfather, and his father served. Men gave their LIVES, so that we could have a Porsche and a bulletin board, and every grace and comfort that this country gives us.

The current state of this country is terrifying. So much so that I would be willing to actually get off my *** a do something about it. Not blow **** up, or stupid stuff. But it may come to that before the end, I am afraid.

People do not realize that America was designed from the start to be a nation of constant revolution. It is what makes us strong. The current trend of things is weakening the American spirit and the American nation.

Did you know that the so-called "Patriot Act" allows for government agents to enter your house, place surveillence cameras and microphones, and they do not even have to have a reason? Or a warrent? That it is now legal for the US government to tap and record your phone, regardless of suspicion or evidence?

Now the government wants to put into place a system of snitches. Paid informants. Americans who are asked to narc out their fellow Americans. Pathetic and disturbing.

Cameras are now in place all over the country that can scan your face, and pull you out of a database. People with arrest warrents were pulled out of the last SuperBowl with the same tech.

But I hear you, "it was criminals, they ought to be arrested".

We all trust the cops right?

The rich get richer and more corrupt, while we still have starving children in America. You think big business is corrupt? You think Enron was full of scumbags? Try wading through the Federal Budget, and tracing where the TRILLIONS of dollars go.

They even have a word for it, like its cool or something. Pork. Federal Pork. And those greedy, corpulent, disgusting old bastards just keep shoveling it in. Talk about 7 deadly sins, those guys are the poster-children.

Notice how Cheney has been absent lately? Cause he us dirtier than a Tijuana *****. Hands covered in the blood of investors and the savings of thousands, maybe even you.

Its really getting scary. I saw some freak *** psycho bitch, Ann Coulter. She was like some kind of anti-messiah. You could see the forests and wildlife dying in her eyes, like some kind of uber-Republican. Star-Wars weapons and pipelines in Alaska get her wet, I bet.

I am no treehugger, or counter-culturist. I am an American, born and bred. It pains me deeply to see the rights and privleges my forefathers bought for me with their lives, thrown away by a bunch of greedy, stupid old men.

I dont like anything about the current government. Bush has surrounded himself with the elites. (I use that word in the worst sense possible.) These people will trample the world to maintain the positions they have deluded themselves to believe they need. Oh yeah, and you do remember that the whole election was probably rigged and fraudulant right?

Our Foriegn Policy is jacked. More and more nations fear and despise us. Our Economic Policy has devastated the markets, and frightened investors. We could very easily be on the brink of a new Great Depression if some kind of good news isnt around the corner.

After years of budgetary improvements and even surpluses, they recently had to increase the national debt limit, because we blew the bank account and more in the last year.

My greatest fear is that we the American people have been betrayed. We voted for someone else, by popular majority. But like Al Capone, the Bush family jumped in and took what they felt they deserved. And we the people just let them, like scared kids backing down from a bully.

I am not a big Clinton fan, but all he did was get a blow job. He never made me feel scared for the future of my nation. And I never personally saw the need to pursue the whole ******* thing. Who gives a **** if he got one. All that tells me is that Hillary is a tight *** bitch who didnt take care of the President the way she should have. I mean, cmon, its the ONLY thing she really HAD to do.

Bah, I am rambling again. But its a scary world these days boys. I try to think about what ben Franklin, or Jefferson would have made of this mess we have now. My gut tells me they would have loaded their muskets and taken back the American nation.

Sorry for the novel.

Ah revealing words from a wise & experience one!

I find it fascinating that there's been this incredible investigation of the 'terrorist money trail' and seizing assets around the world. However, there's a Saudi bank that's been off-limits! That just happens to be the bank that George W. used to make his millions. The bank that still washes through millions for his Texas oil companies. The bank that still employs the al-Barakaat and al-Taqwa methods of informal, untraceable money transfers used by terrorists. Not to mention that most of those 9/11 terrorists were Saudis...

*****"Patriot Act" allows for government agents to enter your house, place surveillence cameras and microphones, and they do not even have to have a reason?*****

Scary stuff indeed! It's not right, and wars (and revolutions) have been started over less...

*****We all trust the cops right?******

The biggest fu**ing joke of the anti-gun idiots- assuming if guns are illegalized, there will be less criminals and everyone will be safe. Truth is, cops are people too- I know several- some of the best guys I know are cops- of course, it stands to reason- some of the worst people who exist are cops too. Most people wouldn't think twice about trusting a catholic priest- insulting one is commiting a sacriledge- of course, now it's come to our attention that several have molested young chilren- what does that tell you? I for one, won't trust for ONLY cops to have guns- THAT IS IGNORANT! We would all be at the mercy of cops and criminals- often times one in the same...

*****....like Al Capone, the Bush family jumped in and took what they felt they deserved...*****

Sorry, but I've done a lot of research on Capone, and while he DID do some pretty rotten things, he wasn't nearly as bad as he has been portrayed in movies- NOTHING like some of them. You're really insulting poor Al there

We are in a sad state here- this country was born b/c of over taxation, religious persecution, etc- What's going on now? Taxes are ridiculous- here in TN it's the biggest joke- we have had 8.25% sales tax for 10yrs- it just went up to 9.25%- we've got all kinds of idiots lobbying for a state income tax too (one of our few benefits was not having one)- like sheep to a slaughter. The main platform for politicians (this goes for the rest of the country too) is education for the children. What about the children, wont somebody PLEASE think of the children? TN has supposedly had one of the worst educational systems in the country- every year, since the early '70's, it supposedly gets worse. Every year, we budget more $ for them, but it keeps getting worse- what's wrong w/this picture? Where does all the $ that the government already gets go? There's no way they need more- they need to spend it more wisely. Our tax system should be simpler- 10% is 10%- why should one person be taxed 40% & another 10% and one get all kinds of deductions and the other get it all back as a refund anyway? TOO much crap- it would be SOOO much simpler to just have a small flat rate across the board- less expenses, less need for the IRS, less need for high priced accountants, lawyers, etc- sorry for those who wouldn't be needed anymore, but if some get their way, you won't be needed anyway- we'll just send all our $ in and they'll let us have back whatever THEY decide

This surveilance thing has gotten out of hand- so has the airport security and every measure taken since 9/11- it's ridiculous- yes, I saw the footage- live- it was horrible! But what a farce- are their lives going to be lost in vain? Will it make it better, make it worth their lives to give up OUR freedom? Is that what they would want? I think not! What's the answer? Let terrorists come in and do what they will? Of course not, but the laws that are being put into affect are only hurting the law abiding in our own country- not the fu**ing terrorists! Well, it's okay- let's all just give up our guns and install video cameras everywhere and everything will be okay!

The biggest problem we as a world face is over population. What do we do? Outlaw reproduction? I'm for incentives to lower the birthrate, but illegalizing reproduction seems entirely unconstitutional. Of course, it should also be illegal to bring children into the world w/absolutely NO means of supporting them IMO. Anyway- I'm getting off track here, and have rambled long enough....

Sorry for book #2...

Missed out:
- Stutz Bearcat
- Mercer Raceabout
But admitted.. there was a huge time gap (with nothing) in between...

Political?
I am Dutch, so I dont feel like I am the right person to chime in on this but I do have some thoughts that might be shared:
McCarthy, late '50 / early '60,
George Orwell: 1984, missed it with a few years only
What is new?

I have the very strong impression that politicians are sharks disguised as patriots and they are the same all over the world.
What is frustrating me most of all is that us citizens are paying the bill for their mis-management and their salary on top of it.

Agreed, this is scary.

Sorry, now you've gone of the (left) deep end. Why am I guessing you're buds are all Dems? This is BS straight out of the Dem play book. Cheney sold his stock at the request of the same people who are now stringing him up for it. He's been investigated and no wrong doing found. This is simply politics of personal destruction because there is an election coming up. Its easy to portray successful people as greedy. Hmm wonder why Dems are never portrayed that way?

Bsh has done some stuff I don't agree with, but overall he is a leader. You don't be a leader by cow towing to what the "world" wants you to do. You do what is best for America.

You think Clinton was responsible for the prosperity in the 90s that just happened to be going straight down the tubes before Bush even got into office? Then throw in the tech collapse and 9/11. Yeah, lets blame it all on those greedy Republicans. Sorry but I didn't start this political crap.

I'd much rather just talk Porsches ;-). There are other places on the internet for this. We can meet there, the gloves can come off :-) (purely in a virtual sense of course) and spare this board this kind of crap.

Peace through strength.

Alan

Sometimes we just HAVE to go political I guess. I can't comment on the Cheney thing- I don't know enough about that. As for successful people being greedy- you're right Alan- it is true that many people are percieved as being greedy, immoral, etc simply b/c they are rich or successful- that's the reason we (the US) are hated so much as a country. It's a bad generalization. I also agree that presidents and their parties are given too much credit, immediately anyway, for the state of the country. The effects of Clinton's riegn really haven't shown themselves fully yet. Just like Carter and Reagan- remember the Iran hostage situation? They were there for almost 2yrs and Reagan get's elected and they're freed- everyone was saying "yeah, they're scared of Reagan- they know he'll nuke their asses." Truth is, Carter had already negatiated their release. Reagan just benefited from timing. Am I a Democrat or a Republican? Neither! Wouldn't want to own up to either one- problems w/both- hell, I've got problems too Wish I had the answers- bet I could turn the country around if I had full support- it would get a LOT worse before it got better though- there would sure be a LOT of unhappy people for awhile though...

Heh, heh... you should see the stuff the U.S. is doing abroad in order to make money! Too bad most Americans are either too apathetic or too ignorant to read the foreign press (in a foreign language even, how about that!)...

Ok, I guess we're not the only ones:

Well, quite a little circle-jerk going on here. No comment.

Wait... one comment.

How is believing soley in the foreign press any different from believing soley in news as reported by CNN? MSNBC? The truth is, as it has always been, somewhere in the middle. If you believe that the news sources of other parts of the world are going to be less biased than those in our own back-yard, then well - you have another thing comin' (what a song )

One of my favorite things about this board is how most of the current military members have a tendency to simply hold their tongue.

God, I love this country.
