As for *****, the only things I see that he did wrong were to cheat on his wife, and to lie about it to the nationt- is lying illegal? Wrong maybe, but I don't know about illegal(?). Yes, I would expect more from a president than that- I would expect our president to have the fu**ing ***** to say: "It's none of your FU**ING business, go take a flying fu** at the moon you stupid little nosey, pathetic fu**s!" OR, "YES- I put my co** in her mouth- what the hell do you want from me- it's none of your business who's mouth I put my co** in, and I MAY just put it in your mother's next week just b/c you've pissed me off you stupid pathetic di** warts!" Now THAT, I would have not only respected, but would have cheered for! Maybe it's poor judgement, and maybe a president DOES have to expect his privacy to be invaded somewhat, but, there are still some things that are NO ONE'S business. Now if he weren't doing his job and/or were running a prostitution house, or something were we could prove he was doing Monica's mouth when he SHOULD have been doing something else, thereby dropping the ball so to speak, then I may feel differently...
Guns: I've seen zip guns made before, and know that prisoners make them all the time- that being the case, there's no way to get rid of them all- THEREFORE, SOME people will ALWAYS have access to them- that means that we who would be w/out guns would be UNSAFE and/or at the MERCY of those W/them. Everyone knows statistics (what country has the most gun deaths) can be manipulated. I wonder about some of these other nation's w/low gun deaths- how many other kinds of murders do they have and how do they rank overall per-capita in murders? Do their police departments even report all of them, and/or, what percentage of the gun deaths were caused by the actual cops that are supposed to be protecting their citizens?
We, America, HAVE been instrumental in inventions over the last few centuries, although it can be argued that SOME of these things would have been invented anyway, even w/out us. The truth is, wse would NOT exist w/out guns- we would have easily been overpowered w/out it- not enough of us- the gun has aided MANY smaller countries that w/out it, would have been conquered. The gun is a GREAT thing (except in the wrong hands)- it is vital to our self-defense- I guess that's what it comes down to- I believe that everyone deserves freedom and the right to protect themselves- if it weren't for guns, then many would be w/out a chance.
There are just WAY TOO MANY men in this world w/no sense of decency or fair play. What chance would you have if you were old and feeble? What the hell do you REALLY think would happen if for some reason, we OUTLAWED guns, EVEN IF THEY DID JUST DISSAPEAR? We would all just be on easy street- everyone happy and thoughtful, sprinkling pixie dust all over the place? My friends, there would STILL be bombs, knives, bats, and ALL sorts of horrible things to hurt, maim, and/or kill one another with. As a matter of fuct, some of the sickest, most painful and evil things that were done to one another were done long before guns ever came about. Tortures such as nailing a man's di'** to a table, setting the room on fire, and leaving him a knife. People were burned at the stake- some were beheaded, others were skinned alive- people do some horrible sh**! Anyway, my point is not to disgust you, or confuse the issue, but to point out that there are SOOO MANY sick people in the world who are capable of some SADISTIC things- there are more of these people nowdays, since there are SOOOO MANHY MORE people in the world to begin with- not only that, but, there is even a greater percentage of sick people in the world now- why? We are being crammed in like sardines- it's the deterioration of the gene pool. We have SOOO many violent offenders these days, that some of the worst days of years ago seem placid by comparison- nostalgic even. Anyway- you rid society of guns, and you won't help a thing- except for the criminal element, the controlling aspects of our government, AND terrorists...

Did you know that in California, we spend 3x as much on a guy in prison than on a kid in school??? That's simply f*cked up! Perhaps, just maybe, if we give kids a little more attention in school, they won't turn out to be deliquents and criminals, eh? California happens to trail quite a few states (19 or them ???) in graduation test scores...

Water944t, I wish I had your patience, I get so fired up when I talk guns and politics with people. I love collecting firearms and I always will (reguardless of how the laws change) people can do drugs, thats fine **** your life away, just leave me out of it. bad people use guns as a tool, nothing else. take the tool away and he will find another substitute. people only print the bad press on guns and this scares some uninformed young people. the most fun i have is taking people shooing from my college and educating them on the subject. Knowledge will perserve our guns. neat video.

Bollocks. The steam engine did far more to advance technology and bring about the modern age than ANYTHING. The gun, especially the machine gun, has merely allowed our species to decimate its own with cold mechanical efficiency.

I'd be a lot happier in that situation than if I earned 15K and lost 10% in tax - that is a bite that can be FELT.

There is strong evidence that British Special Forces had OBL cornered in a valley late last year - they were not permitted to complete a sweep and had to wait for the US S. F.'s. Was this arrogance (we can't let anyone else get him) or were there too many outstanding defence contracts to allow the poster boy for the 'War Against Terror' ™ to get caught too soon?

Well at the time, the 'Patriot Act' <cough>, hadn't been passed yet; the sense of fear and danger had to be prolonged. Also what about the report by Le Figaro on 24-Oct-2001 that Bin Laden got visited by the CIA when he was in Dubai getting dialysis in July-2001? Oh wait, I forgot Americans can't read French papers...
