My interior is melting in the sun wtf?
yesterday I get in my car and I noticed both my sunshades where hanging, both clips holding the sunshades had broken off and there was sticky molten plastic like residue left where they were broken off.
then I also looked and was shocked the centre console armrest the vinyl has completely peeled off suddenly glue has melted off.
are these cars not made to stand up to heat? I used to always park in a garage and now I leave the car outside because there is no space.
and I don't live in a super hot climate i'm in the west coast of BC temps are like 25 degrees or so but it gets pretty damn hot inside the car with the big windows.
when this happened yesterday I was also using one of those winshield reflective shades wonder if that actually made it worse.

Would suggest that they may have been glued on ay some point and the glue failed in the heat....
(and are you saying it's warm and sunny in BC, for a change? Am about to get on a plane to come out there tonight)

hmm yeah maybe you're right that someone previously had glued them and they fell apart in the heat.
now I need to find new sun shade clips (the hook ones), and reglue that armrest vinyl.
my driver side vinyl seat (porsche script centre) has become brittle from the heat and is cracking on one side also.

lol the one I have and all the ones I've seen both sides are shiny....
yeah I really need to get all my windows tinted...
I can't drive the car at all until 8pm or so its way too hot in the interior. when I go for a short drive I come out soaking wet its pretty gross.
when driving my heater blows hot all the time also haven't fixed that yet so its like a freakin oven in there.

The clips in my 88 924S disintegrated the same way. I got new ones for about $8 each + shipping from "Nine a Part" in Ontario. Shouldn't be too much to ship to VCR.
