Talking Update on dash swap (some serious pictures) :)

So if some of you didn't know, Marcquito has been helping me (through pm's) on my dash swap. My progress so far as been good. The dash isn't bolted down, I still have to move it around a little bit before I start to drill. Whats left now is some wire work, figuring out the gauges, then to bolt the dash down. I'm not converting the a/c over (yet), but I still haven't removed the early a/c system. I'm curious to see if the dash will just cover the early system. Which I think it will, but then I couldn't have a glove box, ha. So it is most likely coming out. Here are some pictures. Please comment and tell me what you think!

Looks like it was meant to be there! Kudos on the hard work!

Unless you're installing airbags, I bet you could custom-make a glovebox where the passenger airbag was...

Good luck !

+1 I was thinking the same thing J Berk.

Maybe you could even somehow use the existing glovebox door release button for the new box door and seal off where the original door is to make it look like there was never a door there to begin with. It would be a cool mod.

Thanks guys! No one really seems interested about these dash swaps anymore, lol. There's no way I'm installing airbags, way to difficult, ha. Those also weigh like 4237753466 billion pounds, lol. I'm not talented enough to make my own glove box. Mold? Eh... Not my cup of tea. But thanks for the ideas!

No I like it too if it is clean and black. Unfortunately most are crap.

Nice project, I think it will be really cool in a 924

I liked it when I had it. Once I had a car with a late dash...I felt I was in a much more modern car.

Early dash is not bad...but late one is more my taste

Funny, Loraxs'' car does not have pop ups or torsion bars and looks extremely 80s. I can't wait till he posts some pics of it - it looks great!

Did you remember to take a few close up shots of the AC blower unit for me?

Thanks for the compliments guys! This has nothing to do with the thread, but the front fenders, and nose panel were water spotted like hell. ha. So they are already getting repainted, and I shaved those ugly side markers.
